The addition of coke makes the problem so much worse. Think of withdrawal as being a discrepancy between inhibitory (GABAergic) and excitatory (Glutaminergic) neurotransmitters. Cocaine is mostly dopaminergic but very much affects the glutamine dependent reward pathways in the nucleus accumbens. The alcohol causes GABA production decrease since the alcohol is a depressant (think how shooting up testosterone stops your natural production) so there's a relative disproportionate amount of inhibitory neurotransmitters. Cocaine as a stimulant makes this worse. He's going to have a rough couple days. No guarantee he'll go into DTs but he will feel VERY shitty.

If you get arrested with any controlled substances, having a firearm in your possession also carries charges. A lot of time they will plead out the gun charge to get the guilty verdict on the other charge. It is used as leverage.
