Lastly I don’t know why people think getting CPS involved is an unalloyed good. There are many abusers in the system, even amongst CPS staff (guess where the best place to meet exploitable children is?)

Everyone here hates the CPS worse than the cops which are worse than niggers which are worse than Jews.

That everyone is basically agreeing that CPS getting involved is a good outcome for the kids shows how fucked everything is.

Mandated reporting only applies when you hear something or see something when you are doing your job. I am a mandated reporter. When I hear about child abuse/dependent adult abuse while I am doing my job, I have to report. If I am watching a Nick stream that is not my job - I can report but am not mandated to do so.

Technically yeah. However, it's pretty easy to merge them together - not watching a stream, that would be ridiculous. If you work for CPS and a friend of yours informs you of a dangerous situation involving children that might as well be a report even if you're off the clock. People have also brought up that clergy are mandated reporters in Minnesota. When aren't the clergy doing their jobs?

We're also relying on whoever made the report to have used the term correctly and actually be a mandated reporter in this instance.
