So as everyone has said in any substantively important sense, he forced the cops to beat down the door with a battering ram. With his children inside. Conceivably at risk of getting hit by the door itself or other debris. Because he absolutely does not give a single shit about his five kids. In fact, it seems like he actively hates them.

If ones legal strategy going into this is contesting the grounds of issuing of the warrant int he first place then handing over the keys to your house and safe could be construed the defendant acknowledging the validity of the warrant and/or giving up ones fourth/fifth amendment rights and consenting to the search.

Until we see bodycam I think any statements made on how much danger the children were in when the police entered the home are pure speculation.

The cops asked Nick for the door code when they pulled him over but probably before he got a copy of the warrant.

1. Cops arrive at house.
2. Rekieta gets pulled over nearby.
3. Cops ask minor to let them in. She refuses.
4. Cops ask Rekieta at the traffic stop for door code. He refuses.
5. Cops bust down the house door.
6. Cops drive traffic stop Rekieta to the house and show him the warrant.
7. Rekieta throws the warrant on the ground.

That is the story that I think is told by the probable cause affidavit and common sense.

That's what I thought at first, but from the charging documents I don't think Rekieta was on site at the house when they tried to get his daughter to open the door. Note how "NICHOLAS REKEITA returned to the home with law enforcement" is after the attempted entry. So I guess they had a couple cops intercepting Rekieta and dealing with the traffic stop, and a couple others simultaneously executing the search warrant? That or this is just a poorly written description.

I don't think they were tailing him or "intercepting" him, the document makes it sound like they saw him drive by. I assume (but it's not said) that they were driving northbound towards the house and he was driving south from his house.

Either Nick never told her to flush the drugs when the cops knock or she was already blasted out of her mind that morning. With the kid answering the door and him driving at the time, it probably brought her at least 15 minutes.
