Most people aren't keeping up closely and may not be aware that they can still vote for Trump if he's in jail. The Democrats may try to push that misunderstanding hard.
As we get closer and closer to November, the DNC becomes more and more hostile to the very idea of voting for someone besides Biden. I'm half expecting laws to be passed to make it illegal to vote Republican if he wins again.
The longer he's off the campaign trail the longer they can push the idea that it's illegal for him to be in office.

The DNC is also banking on the Washington Generals RNC choosing not to nominate him if he's in jail because they are fucking addicted to losing with dignity of the idea of decorum.
They're hoping it will cool any swing vote support Trump may receive.

While Trump out and about always helps this is one of the few times people legit have a way to directly compare what it was like to live underneath one of the two options. Trumps can blast the airwaves with "When was your life better, 2016 to 2020 or 2020 to 2024?" while also talking about how bad the US Gov is unjustly reaming its citizens, even himself.

The Biden Harris team officially had Robert Deniro, the rich kid larping as a hick Fanone, and the black cop from the DC Capitol police out in front of the courthouse, and someone said it made Rudy's plant store speech 4 years ago look professional by comparison.
Jimmy Dore thinks people like DeNiro hate Trump because deep inside, what they say about him is projection about themselves. In a Jungian sort of way.

I guess the Security Detail would keep doing their thing and have eyes on him at all times
They couldn't incarcerate him in a normal facility. They would basically have to vacate an entire prison, and then Secret Service would run that prison. It would be a logistical nightmare, which is why house arrest is probably more likely
But wasn't Congress trying to pass that law to allow them to revoke the security detail from "disgraced" presidents? Seems like the plan would really be to just do that.
'Trying to' being the key words. They don't have the numbers to pass that

Agreed. There are a lot of low information independents out there who may say “I don’t believe what they say about him but I don’t want four years of chaos either” and will either stay home or vote Biden. There are a lot of people out there who prize stability above all else and if there’s too much angst, they’ll get scared off. Lots of boomers near retirement who are afraid MUH 401K gets impacted if they vote for the option that puts off their retirement another year or two. They will happily vote for Biden if they think their retirement will get fucked with, we saw this in 2016.

I don't think they're gonna vote guilty, the publics eye is on this too much.
Imagine you're a juror though. The power to jail one of the most powerful people in the world. To be able to say "I changed history." To change the outcome of the election--your vote in November will never be as powerful as this one.

Even for a Trump supporter, the temptation to vote guilty would he overwhelming. Not to mention the fact that there are probably some rabid TDS types on that jury by virtue of where they live. You gotta sit in that room with them screeching and sneeding. Wouldn't it just be easier to go along?

On the flip side, the urge to vote not guilty to cause a riot is just as powerful. The defense didn't do a very good job with their presentations and I feel even if he was found guilty it would just be a fine and not prison time

Bragg unilaterally raised the charges from a misdemeanor to a felony, invented some baloney about it being election interference, and found a way to make it so the statute of limitations didn't apply. The jury has made up its mind already.

Raising the charge from a misdemeanor sank his chances of getting a conviction to begin with, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it's purely a political move. Jurors are not as dumb as others think they are.

This is ignoring all the polls and pretty much everything else that says that if Trump gets convicted on this shit, his lead over Biden increases.Trump being convicted on some bullshit is not going to make people who were toying with voting for him vote for or otherwise reward the lawless criminal in office who saw to it that he would be convicted of something

If these were real crimes the equation might be different, but they're not. The public, by-and-large, do not see these as legitimate prosecutions

If I were on the jury, I'd deadlock it. Unfortunately for Trump, the corrupt judge has made it so that these charges don't require a unanimous verdict

The prosecution being completely legally illiterate, asinine and illegitimate doesn't necessarily entail that the jury has made up its mind. The jury being from New York City does, though...

The jury has been stacked to convict. Bragg wouldn't go to all these legally questionable lengths just to get cucked out of a conviction by a jury.

I'll believe an acquittal or hung jury will happen when I see it.

I already know what's gonna happen, it came to me in a dream.
Because I have basic reasoning skills, and live in a place called "reality": a nasty, ugly, hopeless realm where crooks and fiends have absolute power, and everyone with a semblance of goodness is an incompetent, idealistic fool.

Spare this "here's how Trump can still walk!" cope. There is no escape from this Clown World hell.

Are there any supporters of Trump besides me, of course who is actually threatened or scared of Robert DeNiro thinking he’s “speaking the truth”?

The more that I see him talk like this, the more this just screams of desperation. At worse, DeNiro seems phony thinking that the NYC he lives and was born in is the same NYC of today. It’s hard to believe that this is the same guy that played Travis Bickle and The Deer Hunter.

Counterpoint: Alvin Bragg has the physiognomy of Movie Bob. It is perfectly possible he failed to stack for a conviction.

The judge didnt tell the jury it didnt have to be unanimous. He told them they didnt have to be unanimous on the "other unstated crime". If anyone hangs it he will rotate them out.

Also anyone who forces a mistrial could easily make half a million to a million dollars in the right wing grifto sphere. Of course you may need that money after the doxxing and cancelling you will get.
