Second I own several guns and not a single one ever came with any spent brass from the factory. Magazines, chamber lock, instruction manuals, warranty card, and in some cases a cleaning kit, but an empty brass cartridge? Nope.

Some manufacturers will include a spent shell casing to show the firearm was fired, or proofed, etc. Some include a target showing a group test fired. Some don’t.

Seems odd for .22 casing to be found when there wasn’t a .22 caliber firearm taken. The Sig AR could be converted to shoot .22 with a drop in conversion device.

Could be an error on LE in documenting the casing and it should be .223. Or, could be an old casing from construction. I have found what looked like .22 Short casing from construction sites. Hard to say without seeing it.
