There’s a good number of things that don’t exactly add up. It’s weird to me that Nick’s dad was there and saw the state of the house and didnt say anything or didn’t hear from the kids they were hungry. Same with Kayla's parents. Idk how he explains away the kid saying they wore the same clothes for multiple days and smelling on police bodycam or the cocaine they found at his house. Plus his multiple streams where he’s extremely fucked up.

that's what i said too! but i think prints are a bad idea, you'd want to make a print, use that to make a mold and then cast them with something much tougher. a lot of their viewer submitted rounds are milled

It doesn't fucking matter whether or not you think the kids should've been able to take care of themselves or not, legally it was the responsibility of their parents to take care of it. That's a fucked up family dynamic, and it is the parents' fault.

It's normal to wonder why five kids of varying ages, one of which is old enough to drive, who aren't in poverty, who have extended family aren't trying to fill the gap their parents left somehow - most kids are pretty resourceful if they have to be. Seriously, would you leave your younger siblings starving, even if your parents were useless? Wouldn't you have at least gotten your grandparents involved? It's weird.

The parents may not have known just how bad things had gotten. It's clear that they knew that things were deteriorating. But the problem is people like Nick have huge leverage over Grandparents. It's cutting off access to the Grandkids. I doubt any of the Grandparents thought they were doing dealer levels of Cocaine while engaging in 24x7 perverse sexcapades as the kids went unwashed and hungry.

And the kids especially the older ones, will just be too ashamed and embarrassed to say anything.

If that one document floating around this morning is to be believed Kayla's Sister is one of the reporters, who tried to remain anonymous. So the family clearly had twigged to what was going on, and at least one of them was going past the point of no return and calling it in.

Nick was involved with the kids for a long time. He used to talk about cooking for them (cooking streams?), he taught at the Sunday school, he drove them to activities. He and Kayla acted the part of loving devoted parents for 10-14 years depending on when you think the downfall began. It's not like he didn't know any better.

Nick had an entry level job at a branch of a retail bank (Wells-Fargo). I've seen it described as "teller", but that doesn't sound right as he was calling customers doing some soft selling. It's not exactly Exotics quant at Goldman Sachs on Broad St, running a book at a hedge fund or even working as a local IFA.

One of my friends has an English Lit degree and he went into insurance. There's a lot of operations jobs where they will train up anyone with any kind of degree.
