EVS is a retard. I was homeschooled for a decent part of my life and was left home alone for days at a time all the time. Yeah I could feed myself and do laundry and take care of the pets. Add in 4 other kids into the equation and it would be a total mess. It's like leaving one dog home while you go to work can be fine. Dysfunctional families are like mini cults. Honestly, anything they do now to rebel or not prop up this dysfunction now is good for them long term. The hardest thing for parentified kids is understanding that their efforts were used to prolong their own suffering. It can take decades for them to see it, if they ever do.

If the Crackets had been 8% more functional, able to dispense food and organize some laundry, the kids would still be suffering from whatever abuse comes from cocaine-using swinger drunk parents but no one could help them.

This is possibly the best outcome for the kids, and it’s not that great.

I have watched Nick Rekieta ever since the Weeb Wars stuff began. I went back to watch some of his older streams. This is what a lot of people don't get about Nick. He WAS 100% the Tradcath Husband he portrayed himself as. If he wasn't, he was the world's greatest actor and should go to Hollywood. I disagree. I watched Nicky Boy during the Vic Lasagna stuff too. Just because he portrayed himself a certain way on camera does not mean that was actually who he was off camera. Obviously things did get much, much worse since then, but I really doubt that all was just fine and dandy at the start and it was just getting big enough on the Internet that somehow ruined him. My guess is one, his marriage was already not great at that time, two, he already had a problem with alcohol (though again, it got even worse later on), three, he always resented having moral constraints placed on him by his family and incel church prudes and always fantasized about a hedonistic "party" lifestyle, feeling like it was something he had missed out on in life.

Now I'm sure Kayla had lots of problems too. You don't have to pick one or the other though. Maybe they are both just bad people who both failed as parents. It doesn't have to be the case that somehow only one of them was the real problem.
