My uncle used to alternate between being so evangelical Christian he was insulting and hostile to anyone who didn't agree with him, and being a coked out junkie who stole from his kidsI think this is a function of the need to change your mindset from being a degenerate who's obsessed with drugs and alcohol, to somebody who no longer uses drugs and alcohol yet remains obsessed by them.
It's also a grift. People who stop using will often need a new grift. I used to think it was hilarious/irritating in equal measure. These days, I'm more sympathetic. It's a coping strategy to get people through that difficult early recovery. Most of them will grow out of it and return to normal. But the ones that don't tend to be insufferable.
I wonder if anyone has tried that with Capybaras since that one clan? colony? seems to have taken in that cat without issueHonestly, cat law isn't a very deep topic, definitely not entire-channel-worthy. It could also be about conservation and zookeeping, I suppose
It's considered "best practice" by most of the world's zoological associations to raise wild cat cubs alongside at least one other similar-aged feline cub; if a cat is born singly, or has to be separated from its littermates for some reason, then some zoos will pair the cub with a dog, as apparently it boosts their confidence as they grow up. This is especially common among cheetah cubs, which sadly have a high mortality rate even in the best of circumstances. Many of these pairings will remain friends into adulthood, or for their whole lives, it's a fun topic to research.
