This is just to vent really, I guess maybe some of you guys can relate to ignorance around phallo. Thanks for giving me a space to speak freely about this shit. I was getting bloods drawn (just routine) and the nurse doing it made a comment about my graft scar on my arm. She didn't know my name when she entered the room so I assume she didn't read my notes beforehand. She actually really surprised me, seemed to know exactly what it was for. She said "is that your penis?" which took me by surprise and before I could reply she apologised and said "I actually have a patient going through phalloplasty, he's a man now but he used to be a woman." This seemed pretty cool to me, her wording wasn't great (I know most trans men don't feel as though they were born as women at all) but wow she actually knew what phallo is?! A nurse in a totally unrelated field?! That's very rare in my personal experience.

He/she was venting about the nurse assuming he's a "stealth" pooner to a bunch of chicks attempting exactly that thing. That feels very trollish.

Phallo recovery really tests your limits, and you can know all the things about it but nothing prepares you to live it. I’m a little over a week post op now and spent five days in the hospital. It’s been so hard at times. There were days where I couldn’t do anything at all. And when I first got home every little task was hard. I couldn’t pick a paper towel up off the floor.

It’s been an extremely frustrating week for me too, but everyday gets a little better. My motto has been “pain is temporary, penis is forever.” And the view looking down has made it all worth it.

I wasn’t allowed to stand until day three and it was rough. And my catheter was so positional, I had to keep asking my nurses to move it around so it would drain. I know it sucks. Being able to start standing will make a big difference. They put a recliner in my room too and being allowed to walk to it and sit there for the day made me feel a lot better.

I would definitely do laser as well. I did laser on parts of my arm that didn’t have a tattoo, though I have a lot of blond hair so I’ll have to go back with electrolysis if I want to get rid of more hair. Laser takes a lot less time to clear an area cause you can do the whole area in one sitting, where as electrolysis takes 5ever because they’re pulling each individual hair out one at a time. My electrologist does laser too and said both are effective, just depends on the hair type.

Other posts feel fake too, excessive, unnecessary but constant details that seemed to be added to 'establish a character' of an near-illiterate, schizrophrenic man with all-accepting smart girlfriend who somehow has the money to get the rotdog installation. The focus on cooming details. I wouldn't discount a male from writing long meandering, question-filled posts (because I know people like that) but the other aspects are similar to other sussy reddit posts I've seen.

Another red flag is the way this account is called u/yesitreallyistrue - which meant the only purpose of this account was to tell this story, than to be a general purpose reddit use. The name scheme is very similar to another account, which is called u/UselessAltThing - which has been long speculated to be a fake LARP. It is supposed to be a story of an enbie girl who had all her reproductive organs removed and she's afraid of plants and countryside. There are character establishing details that UselessAltThing kept repeating in almost of all her posts too. That she's from a wealthy Jewish family from NYC and got her surgeries paid by her dad... Similar 'dumb' persona, similar loving all-accepting girlfriend, similar stream-of-consciousness writing style.



Another similar poster on the reddit a while ago that gave me press x to doubt moment was a dude claiming to be a 5'2, with a 6'10 brother and all his posts were about height differences and 'wow, this is such a strange story', with details how they live in New Zealand and grew up with wealthy parents but orphaned as teenagers. I couldn't remember the usernames but the style of writing was also similar.
