I checked out Disturban's Australian True Crime mega compilation, I know it is all old content, but I had missed a lot of these.

His recalling of the Port Arthur massacre was honestly horrifying, I was alive at the time this happened, though too young have been interested in whatever was going on in the news. I had never heard a lot of these details, truly disgusting shit. Especially the way he mercilessly slaughtered a mother and her 3 young children.

If anything, this video really pissed me off with how light a lot of these sentences were, OR that the police had been warned/asked to do something about these individuals before the crimes were committed and did nothing.

ive been watching his channel get less and less views over time and i think he's slowly losing his soul by covering tranalog horror for so long

hes been trying to branch out into LPs and other reaction videos but he gets like 5,000 views for those, so he might taper off if he doesn't do anything innovative with the "watching copypasted videos and talking about how messed up something is" formula

I liked his coverage of the gameplay of KinitoPet but the window dressing around the whole thing was gay as fuck. “broooo don’t look into KinitoPet bro… I looked into it and the horrors I witnessed, oh the horror…” give me a fuckin break. It’s just a mascot horror with fourth wall breaks, most of which have already been done to death. I wish he’d covered the game in a more straightforward way instead of half-assedly pretending it was some real threat out there.

I ain't gonna lie, when I first saw KinitoPet, I was floored at how high quality the game was. I first saw it when someone made a livestream recap of it, and reasonably, the comments on that video complained about how tryhard it got with the SPOOOKYYY dialogues and generic Analog Horror tropes. I watched this way before KinitoPet became as popular as it is now, and not once was I surprised when other YouTubers began latching onto it because they knew it was another game they can slap "MOST DISTURBING GAME!!!!!!!" to.

This game is well made, I will not deny, but it got smeared by acting all dark and edgy. I did like Kinito's humor, but you could've done something so much better with the premise of a Bonzi Buddy-like character that grew desperate to keep you in their every thought and tracks without resorting to horror tropes so predictable and unscary that would make Garten of Banban seem more tolerable to glare at. Seeing how everyone covered Kinito now when searching him genuinely makes me infuriated. I hate it man. I HATE IT. I don't blame the creator (well I mainly do) but I mostly blame the YouTubers who can't bother to just normally review a game without trying to treat it like it's the scariest thing since Ben Drowned.

For now, Total Mascot Horror Death. TMHD. Until I see one that actually treads through horror RIGHT.

An idea I had for a horror series was something structured/framed as a legit documentary.

A small town some time back has a string of massacres that's seemingly been ignored by the greater world, it cuts between interviews with locals who are unwilling to go into too much details on what happened (contrasted with old interviews of those same people during the killings painting a different picture), the documentary's crew discussing their findings, news footage of the time, and the recordings of an FBI agent and a local detective investigating the first few killings.

The first half of the series builds up the idea that there's some demonic shit going on and that people are being possessed to carry out vigilante justice on the town's low lives. It's implied the townsfolk think it's a curse that spreads to anyone who learns too much, which is why they've tried to cover it up, and that the person in charge of the documentary thinks he's being possessed too.

Then the second half dispels this notion. Instead, it's revealed that it was actually a string of opportunistic and paranoid people with a shit ton of baggage, whipped up into a frenzy by the media unintentionally glorifying the first killer (who was actually just some scared punk who got insanely lucky on his first kill and started to believe his own hype when everyone starts treating his kill as the act of some mythical beast), and lashing out at the people they think have wronged them. It ends with the documentary's editor, who's basically gone off the deep end by this point, refusing to accept this and cutting the truth from the documentary.

I don't like short horror games like this because they all scream streamerbait to me, even more so than mascot horror series like Poppy Playtime or FNAF. I'm probably just cynical and that's the whole subgenre, but whatever.

I feel like the comedy potential of an insane and lonely BonziBuddy wannabe desperately trying to keep the attention of the one person dumb enough to download him is way higher than the horror potential. My eyes pretty much rolled off my head when one of the endings was the standard "Ohh no, he trapped you in the game with him!!"

The DDLC fandom is fucking horrifying. Turns out a game meant to parody and deconstruct the type of game meant for grown-ass coomers to hear poorly written high schoolers in a weirdly empty school go "holy shit I wanna fuck you all day" to their blank slate protagonist by luring those coomers in by pretending to be that game at first attracts a really bad crowd.
