Given the Psalm's directly tell of the Messiah's method of death it's very likely he was also aware of how exactly it would go to the point he directly quotes the Psalm's while on the Cross. As far destiny or fate, I dont buy it. The Savior was called to his mission that he accepted and He sublimated his will to that of the Father and carried out his mission. That is implied in the garden. It was choice. Earlier, He could have chosen to agree to the offers at the part of temptations of the devil, but He declined. Thats the beauty and example that was set for us. If there is no choice than what we do matters not at all. And Christ's atonement was for nothing. We choose to believe on His name. This topic is too interesting to get further into it here.
Psalm 22:1
“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
Psalm 22:7-8
“All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads. ‘He trusts in the Lord,’ they say, ‘let the Lord rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.’”
Psalm 22:16-18
“Dogs surround me, a pack of villains encircles me; they pierce my hands and my feet. All my bones are on display; people stare and gloat over me. They divide my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment.”
Christ was so acutely aware of His impending sacrifice prior to being arrested we get His prayer to the Father while the Disciple's slept:
Luke 22:39 - 44
39 Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. 40 On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” 41 He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, 42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” 43 An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. 44 And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.
This is also why the Devil's temptation is so important, because Christ was offered a way to inherit the Earth without needing to be sacrificed and refused it, knowing He needed to follow the Father's Will.
