If he did it, it would be under the staunch and basically firm belief that that no one ever tried to steer him towards recovery, that no one ever thought of recovery, he is the best at recovery, and Nick Rekieta, the greatest person of all time, has overcome the alcohol demon, a thing outside of him and which he now controls utterly.

Did any of the Vic stuff really affect his ego? Any of his incredibly embarrassing drunk/coke streams? It's not like he's unaware of what he looks like, what happened, what he did, how he appeared--there's just no getting through the defense, it's a perfect forcefield that entraps and dissipates any ego injury.
