Reddit is worse in terms of defending pedophilia because the jannies will ban you outright if you say anything bad about heckin' wholesome NOMAPs, Reddit defends loli/diapers/ageplay as "kink", and they have lots of hornyposting/porn references on non-related subs and if you speak out you'll get banned for some stupid reason like "stirring the pot" at best or "sex/kink negativity/SWERF rhetoric" at worst. At least on small boards, 4chan tends to hide the coomer garbage in obvious containment threads while it's liable to pop up on the main feed on Reddit.

I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on reddit since I don't browse it but I find that really hard to believe in the current year, I know reddit used to have a lot of really fucked up subreddits years ago but it's been heavily cleaned up over the years to appeal more and more to as many people as possible, even the Fate/Stay Night subreddit stopped allowing official assets from the games because they sexualize lolis and after a (literal 3 minute) google search I can't find a single instance of loli content/a pro loli subreddit

On the subject of reddit, I can buy that gooning there is hitting mainstream only solely because I know that trannies run the site. I don't know anything else about reddit because I don't visit the site, but that knowledge alone gives me benefit of the doubt to that theory.

To be painfully honest, the only way I think 4chan could get better is if they retired the usual IP-based bans and replace it with something that’s harder to evade. We all know that some of the most prolific shitposters, even those that technically part of groups like The Sharty and various Discord servers, methods that essentially give users a completely new IP address (VPNs, proxy servers, dynamic IPs provided by moble phones being the biggest offenders).

The only problem I can see is that there really isn’t a good method for it without compromising 4chan’s ingrained stance on anonymity.

The main issue with using 4chan’s /l/ board to justify the site being overrun with porn and ecchi content is that moot had to kill it due to morons sharing actual child pornography on it, even back then the site had standards and that’s something 4chan has apparently lost over time. I also like to think similar reasons, along with the usual “drama” reasons, is why 4chan doesn’t have a dedicated furry board (/b/, /mlp/, and /trash/ don’t count).

If you want another example of 4chan curbing rampant porn posting just look at the early days of /vp/, it got so bad that moot brought in new mods and threatened to delete the board if the users didn’t cut it out.

It's probably just as, if not more, profitable for Hiroshima. He made his money before selling user data to the highest bidder and there's no reason why he wouldn't do that now. Think about how many actual frothing retards buy the 4chan Pass alone.

Sure, he makes some money off data collection and retards who buy the pass, but the site as a whole is dying. It will never actually be profitable to run 4chan, at best he can break even and add the site to his portfolio.
The real asset of 4chan is as a honeypot for the feds, but that won't last forever. I'm not sure how long the imageboard format as a whole has, either. Everybody is moving over to discord or social media.
It might not look that bad now, but I guarantee you that this isn't the breadwinner for the gook, not in the slightest. I doubt he even thinks that much about the site, considering he hasn't even made a post on there in years.

I don't think there is a way to successfully gatekeep people out of websites where anyone can post. I remember like 10+ years ago when I was posting there was a "Fuck off redditfag" or "lurk moar" in basically every single thread and it did nothing to keep them out. Bullying and harassment until they leave. Persistent barneyfag tier spam directed precisely at the bad actors, all day, everyday, until they leave. If their experience is miserable enough, they will move on eventually. If they're stupid enough to drop their personal info, use it to dox them too.
Of course, very few people have this kind of autism or that kind of time, so naturally the bad elements decided that they are part of the site, and later define what constitutes as it's culture once they weren't bullied enough. Like I said a few pages back, with the changing culture and a soulless site owner I don't think there is much that could be done either way, but it's sad that the "oldfags" stood by and let the redditors take over the site completely. I mean, we even got one itt dictating to people who browsed it for years what their culture is like ACTUALLY, since apparently we had it wrong all these years.
