I know one professional gambler. He's probably the smartest person I know, gave up working an extremely high paying ML job to professionally gamble. I can fucking guarantee you (average reader) aren't him. When you see Bossman not take out his winnings, and you go "what an idiot! I totally would have cashed out then" you've been successfully tricked.

Yes, there are people out there who can professionally gamble. But it's definitely not you, me, or probably anyone else on this forum.
While it is not about casino games, here is a great video on the type of gambler that beats sports betting.

We all know that one guy who claims to be good at picking winners.

Spoiler alert: He's not.

A gambling addict will not stop until their money is gone. They play to lose. If they were in that Twilight Zone episode where you win all the time, they would stand at the slot machine and pull the lever until they died.

A few people in this thread are boasting about their “acumen” in gambling. Fools. It will always get you. Always. Every gambler has his lucky streak where they feel invincible; think they are just wiser than everyone else and have more discipline. They don’t. They all find out the hard way.

I’ve been there.

The ultimate proof is go to a casino with a friend and have them make exactly the opposite bets. You bet red; they bet black. Logic says if you lose they must win; but that’s where the casino ensures the odds, payouts and games have the tiny edge. You both end up losing.
Niggas really think they live in New Vegas and can just get their Luck stat to 10.

More specifically, research into gambling addiction shows that they

1. Play to pass time in an escapist way. They don't care if they win or lose, they're seeking the feeling of gambling for hours

2. Gamble because of the effects of a variable reinforcement schedule. Varied reinforcement is more reinforcing than consistent reinforcement. This is why if you have a kid with a bad behaviour, and 95% of the time you ignore it, and then one or two times you give them attention for it, they will keep doing it even more strongly now.

3. Addicts (in the psychological dependence sense, not physical dependence) in general are addicted to the shame brought about from their behaviour. This is a really huge part most people overlook. They are literally addicted to feeling shame, and will self-destruct in related situations where they don't feel any shame.

Its really kinda sad, Im a recovering addict and it reminds me a lot of how I used to live. I stuck hundreds of thousands of dollars in my veins over the last 20 years. But when your addicted all you think about is your next fix, everything else has no meaning period
It's also in the mindset that people dont understand unless they have been an addict I found. People are so into the lifestyle of being an addict to something they dont even realize how hard their mindset leads them right back into it.

When I turned 21, my grandparents took me to an indian casino and gave me 100 dollars to fuck around with. I put 40 dollars into some tiktok autism lightshow slot machine and lost it in like 2 minutes, decided gambling was fucking gay and retarded, and took the rest of the money to a nearby restaurant where I got a multiple course fancy meal for the first time.

Don't be a fucking retard, kiwis. A penny saved is a penny earned, and if you must spend money, spend it on experiences rather than ephemeral and mercurial brainrot machines designed to take your money so some methed out indian chief can continue raping the women and kids on his reservation.

>Multiple kiwis admit to start gamba'ing
Did people not learn basic math? gambling is entirely based on psychological tricks of "wow, I won a months rent, how cool!" to ignore the other times you spend a couple months rent all the time.
I've never felt attraction to gambling since I realize 99% of the time the money is LITERALLY thrown away.

And this is sad to see, especially here, a site which focuses on watching several severely mentally ill people, that people would do this.

Yes, you will never win powerball. But when the jackpot is above 584,402,676 or so, the EV of playing actually goes slightly positive.
I have a friend who does this. He also dumped like $15k into Star Citizen. I suspect he absolutely has gamba-brain.

Yup. This is a part of the addiction puzzle that's easy to overlook because it's so hard to comprehend for normal people. It's also why do-gooders who shame addicts tend to not get the results they want, and why intervention letters focus on how much you love the addict and want them to be well, and why it's not productive to call them an embarrassing fuckup.
I would never shame Bossman though, I'm no rat.

And here I wondered why casinos would throw money at a literal crackhead. I failed to see the genius in this marketing.

Ignore the fucking rat :null: i have this EXCLUSIVE video of him ADMITTING that gambling is cool and based and YOU WILL WIN

This totally is not RVC+sadtalker you rat bish

In all seriousness, if you look at austin ruining his life with this shit and decide to gamble you deserve to lose it all.

The correct way to interact with a casino is to come with some cash you arent worried about, enjoy some free drinks, and play low stakes bets for fun for a weekend. You will lose, but if you're having fun then you get your money's worth if you're into that sort of thing. Personally I'm not into gambling, but I know a few people who enjoy the casino atmosphere.

For many industries, the crackhead is the ultimate customer.

I tried gambling once and found it really boring, like watching-paint-dry boring, and this was at a bigger casino, with a free drink every hour so we were incentivized to play for longer, and I came out with slightly more money than I had when I went in. Still boring.
Watching Austin, for me, is like watching footage of a rare and inexplicable natural phenomenon.

It really amazes me how people will play these online casinos. Unless you're a hardcore addict, I don't get it. Casinos can be fun, you go with some friends, have some drinks, and spend a few hours winning and losing some money. It's not a bad night out if you do it once or twice a year. But sitting in a room alone making a new coin flip bet every 2 seconds? Madness.

It's to optimize your time and gamba more efficiently

more time spent gambling = more wins = more money, idiot.

It sounds like the fun part of a casino for you is socializing, but the fun part of a casino for an addict is gambling - the social aspect is a hindrance to the high of a gamba-trance.
Addicts don't gamble to socialize with other people, addicts gamble to escape other people - and every other aspect of their lives that is not gambling.
Clicking a screen with a coin flip in a dark room by themselves endlessly is like the ideal experience.
