1. This bit of gossip is OLD. Several years old. He's already apologized for it and it's even been resolved in court. His wife stayed.

2. It wasn't illegal. He wasn't charged and it sounds like a nothingburger. They must not be that young or it would've been brought with charges. It wasn't. Is it still inappropriate (at best) for a grown man to message a minor on any platform? Absolutely. Should he be shunned and exiled for it? No.

3. I'm not going to get into pedophilia vs ephebophilia but they are 2 different things. 17 year olds are a lot different than 13 year olds and behave differently online. Don't throw words around that are much worse simply because you don't like the guy. A 35 yo being attracted to a 17 yo is much different than a 35yo being attracted to a 13 yo.

4. We've known he disrespected his marriage for years at this point. We all know it's a shit thing to do. Does it really matter if the girl he was flirting with was 17 vs 25? Did you guys really assume this was a woman close to his age he was cheating with? I'd assumed it was some (or multiple) egirls. This shouldn't be a shocker.

5. There's 0 other accusations of him behaving this way. A one off does not constitute being called a "pedophile". Words have meaning and diluting them only services the people who actually are peeds.

It's just like, if we cancelled every dude celeb who's ever been a little sus with young women then we'd have no males in entertainment at all. Maybe that's blackpill talk but moids are gonna moid the second they get big. I'm disappointed but not at all surprised.

As an adult in the current climate he should know better than to talk to youngsters in private messages in general, but saying he's careless and saying he's a predator are two very different accusations, and I want to see the offending chatlogs before I feel comfortable making either one.

Bottom line here is this is a self-inflicted wound. If you're going to use private chat to knowingly talk to a minor in a way that even hints at untowardness you are at bare minimum too dumb to live, regardless of intentions. It doesn't sound like he was actually intending to do anything egregious but then again we don't know exactly what was said. He may have made some out-of-line jokes or he may have said something truly reprehensible. He did not speak as to whether or not he knew this person was a minor at the time, which given that he claims he is free to speak about it now is not a good look.

Both can be true.

Twitch is run by the clinically insane. We can all agree on that. We can also agree that they'll only act on people they hate because as we've constantly seen when it comes to partisanship people will turn a blind eye to their fellows while crucifying their enemies. Never mind their behaviors are the same or worse. The only reason people would know about these messages in particular is because they were actively looking for something. It happened in 2017 and they didn't do anything until 2020. If they had a team of people combing through their creators' DMs - because let's be honest, the average userbase would be way too large for any human team to accomplish - then they would have done something in 2017.

That said your DMs are public to the company. However, if they have a team they hire to go through DMs then they would have already acted on it a long time ago. If they didn't, then that's making Twitch look even worse than they already do. Granted, not as bad as Doc, but if they sat on this for three years then that would certainly bring them up to his level... or down.

I like him too and am a fan, hence the sweeping. I've always been aware he's a pisces male though, and I am extremely biased in thinking they are mostly man whores. It's not surprising for that reason and the fact hes above 6ft, fit, millionaire, ect.
