Unless I missed it, every age is a theory or hearsay; all we know is underage, which means less than eighteen. Seen everything from 13 to 17 years, and no idea who the girl is or what was said, so it's all speculation.

I'm leaning older because of the twitchcon meeting plans. For every doc that gets caught there are many more streamers getting away with worse.

I turned off my mic years ago in online gaming because I decided I wouldn't want someone my age chatting with my school-aged kids.

You shouldn't be messaging kids for *any* reason. There is no conceivable good outcome.

I don't know why it's so hard for internet personalities to just simply NOT talk to minors. Talking to minors in any context is career suicide, especially if those conversations trend even remotely close to "inappropriate", admitting to such is adding nails into an already shut coffin. "Internet Celebrity found talking to minors!", even if you were giving them directions to the grocery store is never a good headline.

Guy was a 37 year old, 8-years married man and chose to do something as stupid as this. It may not have crossed the line into being illegal, but it certainly was fucking stupid. Twitch definitely helped cover this up so people wouldn't find out that Whispers is unsecured, so I guess he got lucky there.

Another piece of con info most people don't realize; you need an adult, in one form or another to get a hotel room. And by adult I don't mean someone who just turned 18, I mean the age of 21 or higher; there are exceptions like being military and having orders, but big hotels, especially convention hotels, they don't rent rooms to children, because unaccompanied children are a massive fucking liability. So when people want to discuss what goes on in convention hotel rooms, there is often one who's name is on the room, most everyone else is an afterthought. So I do agree that she's older, because there ain't gonna be some 13 year old going "with friends" to a convention. I am of course wrong, though I can't cite any exact situations, just by rules of nature I'm wrong, but if I was to put money on it, older girl, even if underage, older, and probably traveling with a pack of clout bunnies.

"inappropriate" dms are extremely fucking vague, and since twitch hates conservatives, but ALSO enabled porn sitewide for a while, I'm skeptical of people assuming this is as bad as assumed. It could be, but it could equally just be making non PC jokes in DM, or flirting with someone who was flirting first prior to knowing age. Neither I think are as bad as people are making out.

I'm definitely not one to presume "inappropriate" Dm immediately means sexting a minor while knowing their age, I'd much rather be sure first. And I don't buy some former jannie to not embelish shit.

I believe you are well intended here, but I also think this is a little silly. If you have the cognitive ability to realize its delicate talking with minors, wouldn't you have the cognitive ability to filter yourself around minors?

Plus i'd say its different anyway, public voice chat and such is much different than DMs themselves.

Easy assumption is that it's something between the high end, sexting (as per the ex-twitch janny), and the low end, inappropriate (as per Dr Disrespect). I think it's fair to say sexual topics were touched on, but probably not explicit sexting with each other.

But hey, considering Dr Disrespect edited the post to remove 'minor' from it at one stage, I wouldn't be overly shocked if his damage control tweet was way underselling it.

There's a lot of nuance and context missing still, and we probably will never get the full logs to decide ourselves, but he's fucked for life now regardless.

It's not about filtering the sick bantz. It's that if you are funny and cool and a good player, kids will try to friend you on PSN or Xbox Live or whatever. Best just to keep quiet, play your game, and stay in private voice chat with people your age.

I got too old to be a good player and dropped console gaming in 2019, so it's moot now.
