But voting or cheering for a guy who will either support or enact legislation and set federal agencies to put you and everyone who writes "hate speech" on the internet (and here)on either jail or a list, who will shut down whatever is left of internet freedoms as we know it,
Remember when Trump attempted to repeal Section 230 for the dumbest reason possible?
A lot of people here supported this to heckin' own the libs. The Farms would disappear completely but LIBERAL MAN BAD.

That's the problem when you have Silent and Boomer Generation politicians clinging on to power and staying in politics despite them getting in their 90s. Remember, Feinstein's daughter had power of attorney over her and yet she didn't give up her House seat until she actually died. The Founders were concerned about the possibility of a rogue President, but I don't think they envisioned a rogue House and Senate that would turn the US into what it is now. Term limits for Senators and House people are desperately needed.
Back in the day it simply wasn't possible to survive as a career politician unless you were already wealthy. That didn't change until like the 20th century when the centralized federal government truly coalesced following the Civil War. Creating our current government which revolves around grifting and career politicos who get into politics just to grift in the first place. Now, if you become a Senator or Congressman you are set for life. Did you know a one term member of the House gets a lifetime pension? An extremely generous one.

Despite all that. It took until the Boomer generation to have leadership that all clings to power until they literally die. Which no previous generation has ever done.

I assume you mean no previous Yankee generation, because the Western Rome did it, Soviet Russia did it, Sparta around the time of Agis IV did it and others I don't remember atm - gerontocracies where consolidation of wealth over generations resulted in society where 1-5% has unimaginable wealth and the rest consists of dirt-poor young people who know they have no stake in the game so they stop trying to contribute to society past the bare minimum. Most of current 1st world is repeating this pattern.

Quotes like that are why the ADL says it’s antisemitic to compare Nazi Germany and Israel. A lot of Israeli rhetoric about the Palestinians is extremely similar to pre-Final Solution Nazi rhetoric. Many of them think the Holocaust was only bad because it killed Jews, not because it killed innocents.
I've always thought that it always felt a bit hypocritical that the United Kingdom was ready to go to war because Germany wanted to take over Poland to build an ethnostate, yet it was perfectly acceptable to carve up their spoils of war (Ottoman Syria) and allow Jews to create their own ethnostate. You can argue over details but for some reason it's framed that Germany was wrong to create an ethnostate at all, not necessarily going about it the wrong way (invading Poland).

It was less that they didn't want Germany to carve out their Ethnostate and more that Germany had many times broken agreements and crossed lines. They had already folded on Rhineland, Anchluss and Sudetenland. If they ignore the invasion of Poland they would be pretty much making it clear for the entire world that Britain and France had literally no teeth and you could do as you please.

The only sin Germany commited in the eyes of the British is trying to be cocky with the big boys and estabilishing their own empire where the sun always shines. Same for Japan, filthy slants thinking they're our equals, absolutely shamefur.

The same Churchil who supported shoving Boer civilians in concentration camps to starve and using "poisoned gas" against savages was also quoted around 1936 that in his opinion Germany is getting too strong and must be reminded of its place.

Israel thing was IIRC a PR stunt that a bit too popular and got out of hand.

Attempted how? He has executive privilege to interpret laws in how they are enforced. He could have issued an EO saying "any website that has ever banned someone for non-criminal actions is in violation of Section 230 and is no longer afforded protection from legal indemnity." This would require nothing but a pen and a piece of paper. Instead, he talked shit. That's where it started and where it ended.

For some additional food for thought regarding whether the Dems will replace Biden or not, CNN intends on re-airing the entire debate tonight. Even if technically a CNN exclusive broadcast, you don't do this unless looking to drive the narrative in a specific direction.

It really looks like the media is full on lockstep in getting rid of Biden and all but ensures his debate performance is not leaving the news cycle for the next couple of weeks. Kind of lines up nicely with what @Gehenna discussed in the past about the inter-faction free for all dominating the Dems' backrooms.

I bet he does fine when he can repeat the earpiece, but when there are several angry jews yelling over eachother at the same time is when he breaks down into incoherence
things are so bad even the people in A&H are gaslighting themselves that it was all a big misunderstanding.
s. NOT ONE SINGLE BOOMER OR WOMAN
Its because they've dealt with men of that generation and understand when its "sickness" off and "dementia" off.

And yet in the end they gave Poland to Stalin anyway....

Exactly this. Trump was just talking shit. He didn't have the votes and the legislative cover to scrap 230 in its entirety
