He's really staking out a hard (hehe) position on this compared to the circles he's used to. I actually think he's going way to the "right" of the audience he's chasing too but at the same time coming up way short of that position because he doesn't understand their position. The "enlightened centrist" position would be more like "they shouldn't do that and should be asked to leave" not burying them under the jail but John knows that wouldn't make him "relevant" enough so he has to posture for clout and attention by taking a harder position. Yet at the same time John's coming up short by saying that "family-friendly Pride events" should be a thing in the first place when the "right"-audience is going to reject this concept even harder than they would some dude's doing Kink at Pride or whatever. They'd see it as what you're going to get by having Pride events at all, not that this was one step too far.

It won't surprise you to learn that, in that case as in many others, John was lying. Bare minimum, he lived there for over a decade, if not most of the first 28 years of his life.
As far as we know, John is the odd one out. Photos of his parents show them to look normal; when he was born, they would have been in their late 20s, not that out of the ordinary, certainly not the age where you get a complete tard. While I don't think anyone's done a huge amount of digging into his siblings' lives, the fact that they don't have thousands of pages here documenting their antics suggests they are relatively normal.
