Fun glock trick on a full size, limp wrist it, it'll jam pretty quick and then act like glocks suck. This is my go to party trick when all I have at the range is some mil surp. "wow that locked up let me show you what my cz 52 can do...." Best part I learned that trick off a man in an anime dress, .... ah old school /k/ meets.
edit: speaking of guns since I couldn't find dumb shit I wanted.. Iwant a Kevin ZP98 add to my czechnology collection but I don't want the 380 jew gun. I want proper czech and 9x18 esp since I have tons of mak ammo. I really hate packing my 1903 it's too valuable and not really.. good for a CC even in gym shorts of the 90f+ days

a lot of people i've met have a good impression if they can set aside their learned and preconceived ideas about guns and pay attention to someone that is knowledgeable on a topic demonstrate that with lecture or practical examples. some people just learn differently or have a situation where formal and/or informal instruction can be hard to come by or is treated as something weird. working with and meeting with a lot of people, many don't want to admit that their background and how others perceive guns have affected their lives. this ranges from sons of black fathers where a gun is both a tool for enforcing order as well as a tool wielded by others to force you to do things. it includes south american farmers where it's a tool to prevent wild animals from making off with prize cattle or gangsters trying to rob others. in china, the gun is a symbol of power for whomever wields it ("the party must control the gun" as per Mao).
conceptually many are drawn to the political, practical, and technical aspects of guns and where your interest falls might determine how you want to learn more about firearms. the starting point is generally thought to be on the practical aspects and safety of owning, maintaining and using safely and in a productive manner. political and technical aspects are where things can get confusing, contradictory, and in many cases co-mingling political agenda with technical definitions.
other than Paul Harrell and Colon Noir, also consider some standardized resources ("Illustrated Encylopedia of Guns" off Amazon for both history and technical introduction) and there's more prose literature from subject matter experts ("Hatcher's Notebook", Revised 1948 preferred, also off Amazon). After digesting those i'm sure there'll be more questions and pursuing those with more books, with some youtubers for like Paul or Colon, and asking questions of others that are knowledgeable about things, are approachable, and can address your specific situation and questions (maybe a family member who's a hunter or a nearby shooting club or gun store). Bear in mind that having a bit of a starting point let's you form a foundation on which to build your knowledge on, and starting first with someone else's first hand experiences is valuable, but it's also tending to be biased for their own situation or peculiarities - that's not a bad thing, everyone has a bias of one kind or another. recognizing that and being able to accept their input alongside many others to form your own conclusions is where you get the beginnings of real wisdom.

also be aware that your local legal situation may limit the types and designs of guns or ammo available to you, and for most firearms, the shooter is generally the one that has the biggest gap in ability vs a firearm's reliability - not the firearm itself. poor maintenance, poor shooting fundamental skills, poor ammunition choice, poor ability to recognize and correct flaws in technique or adapt a technique to their situation (left handed, weak handed, sitting in a wheelchair, weighing 100 lbs soaking wet, et c).
the easiest advice for many new shooters is a inexpensive 5 or 6 shot S&W steel revolver in .38 special. the ammunition is fairly common and was a police and military cartridge for many many years (since the 1800's). many makes and models have been produced over the hundred or so years but S&W is prolific and there is a lot of literature and old timers that will recognize and can help you if needed to fix something or get a spare part. they are inexpensive on the used market and finding them isn't hard. additionally they are typically legal in every US state (generally speaking) and in many foreign countries too if you aren't in the US.
a heavy steel gun absorbs recoil and makes shooting comfortable and the commonly available ammunition makes buying and keeping practice ammo and reguarly practicing with it very easy - make it a habit and get good. if you're relatively "into" guns but have little practical experience, in law enforcement the Glock 19, in 9mm, is what people are generally instructed on. it has many advantages, but for a new shooter with no practical experience it can be frustrating or unsafe
definitely review some videos, ask questions in person and in forums, among friends, or so on, and see if there's a gun range near you that offers gun rentals - often they will have an instructor handy as well to supervise and provide limited safety instruction and they can resolve problems with the guns they rent out. it'll also let you try several different makes and models and find something that is comfortable for you to shoot and isn't breaking the bank.

Are you trying to get into training? Collecting? Smithing? I'm a newfag to this site so maybe I just don't know the try-hard training thread, but the people here have fun with their guns, and thats a good thing. They aren't exactly a fountain of useful knowledge in the violent application side of things.

Ultimately I don't think we can help Null. There is a very real threat to his life and though a lot of us have experience with different guns/calibers we don't have experience with warfare. Hopefully some merc will contact @Null and hopefully he shares the information.

Nope. Not how it works. Marksmanship and training are what it all boils down to. Null is faced with a realistic threat and treating it with realistic expectations is the first step to countering it. The focus for anyone and everyone needs to be a firm grasp on the fundamentals of shooting and a real effort to master them. some key knowledge and regular practice is all it takes to be a top 90% shooter out of the 400million people in America. That last 10% is an exponential curve where the peak is jaw dropping feats and the bottom is baseline competency.
Null is perfectly capable of defending himself.

Find the Univeral Product Code (UPC) for the gun you want. Go to gun.deals and search that UPC there. You'll find the cheapest prices anywhere. Go to a gun store with a range and try renting out a few glocks to see what you like.
Personally I'd recommend the G43x MOS, G26 gen 5 MOS(with 12 round mags for a full grip), G48 MOS, or G19 gen 5 MOS. You're gonna want a red dot with it. They're just so incredible, makes the gun easier and faster to shoot. With the G26 or G19 get a Holosun EPS with DPP titanium adapter plate, with the G43x and G48 get the Holosun EPS CARRY with a DPP titanium adapter plate.
