It really can't be overstated how utterly ridiculous this election is from a "democratic legitimacy" perspective. In terms of seats, this is one of the biggest landslides in recent history, and yet by every possible metric, the Labour party is deeply unpopular from the outset. In terms of the proportion of popular vote won, this is one of Labour's worst rejections in its history. They gained a measly 33% of the vote, in an election with an anaemic <60% turnout. Of the people that have decided to register to vote, only about 1 in 5 went out and voted for the Labour party. Even of those, how many actually did it because they like the Labour party and what it stands for, rather than tactically voting to get rid of the most corrupt, incompetent, scummy incarnation of the Tory party in living memory? Jeremy Corbyn, the previous Labour leader that Keir Starmer kicked out of the party, won back his seat in Islington by a huge margin to beat the new Labour party candidate. That's a huge kick in the teeth in itself, and I think a harbinger of the fact that, despite a giant majority, this Labour party isn't going to be able to hold itself together. It has a massive far-left faction that hate the guts of Starmer and will definitely break ranks to try and take him down.
Everything is in place for a complete meltdown of the Labour party during this parliament. The weird combination of a huge majority and really low popularity will embolden various troublemakers. There's loads of potential flashpoints - Gaza, nationalisation, troons, the EU and more, any or all of which could foment rebellions and factionalism. Starmer is a ruthless disciplinarian who will stop at nothing to keep the Left quiet, but there's so many of them both in and out of the party (such as the Islamist independents and Corbyn) that they could outright split off into some kind of socialist pro-Palestine bloc led by Corbyn and probably incorporating the Greens. Alternatively the Left could go for Starmer himself and try to depose him.

Starmer also faces the problem that the country is completely fucked, well beyond his ability to repair (at least within his ideological constraints). The British state is basically bankrupt after Covid so there's no money to do anything. He's pretty much doomed to fail, and if he tries anything too radical (like actually reforming the NHS) his party will rebel. The public have very low confidence in him, he has won this election just by not being Rishi Sunak, but unfortunately not being Rishi Sunak does not help you govern or seek re-election as an incumbent in a country that's spent a decade lurching from crisis to crisis.

If Labour fall apart then the 2029 election is going to be a farce on an even greater scale than this one. The Tories are unlikely to get their act together, fuck knows what Farage is going to be like as a parliamentarian or whether Reform will even exist by then. You'll have an election where none of the parties are electable and pretty much any outcome is possible, none of them good.
did Truss have a history of incompetence in her political career? The fact that the Daily Star made such a confident bet on her tenure as Prime Minister seems to indicate so. .
She was a mediocre foreign secretary, but more importantly it was widely known, at least within the Conservative party, that she was both a narcissistic egomaniac and a fucking idiot, and no doubt her many enemies briefed the newspapers about this as part of their plotting against her. Her election as party leader was chaotic and it was a decent bet that she wouldn't last, given the ongoing chaos in government that culminated in Boris Johnson's ludicrous attempts to cling to power in the face of all logic and reason.

The weird combination of a huge majority and really low popularity will embolden various troublemakers.
There's also a few fun other odd spots too thanks to that such as cabinet makup. Due to the Greens managing to oust Thangam Debbonaire in Bristol the culture secretary will be Lisa Nandy, she of the eternal safe seat in Wigan. If I thought for a second she would do what she talked about in 2020 and mutualise the BBC I would be positively giddy but instead I am wondering what insanity they plan for her to do that Thangam won't get to.

If you look at the gross numbers (ie don't subtract the number of people leaving the country), the official gross numbers for incomers over the last two years under the Conservatives were already over a million a year, with three quarters of that being from outside the EU. As a reminder, we still have an archaic law on the books that anyone from a commonwealth country like India, Pakistan or Nigeria can vote in this country's elections without citizenship. In short, it is unfathomably fucking over.
What

The

FUCK!

Those numbers are like the USA getting nearly 20 MILLION illegals a year if you adjust for population size.

Oh and the Commonwealth thing needs to end TODAY. Who gives a fuck if the UK colonized you, if you're not currently being ruled from London, fuck off.

So if I understand correctly, the UK is now at the "it is absolutely a crisis" levels of foreign residency
It's been that way for quite some time, it's now so bad that even the semi-rural areas are getting noticeably more browns appearing. There are now two Turkish barbers on my town's high street and not a customer between them whilst a nearby cafe was practically full to the point of having people eating on a table outside, really makes ya think dunnit?

Wow, shit is so dire maybe the King cancer faggot will get involved execute parliament. Too bad Malcolm Tucker isn't declared dictator for life.

The funniest possible outcome of whenever the next General Election might happen to spring up is that we go from it being primarily a clash between Red and Blue to between Orange and Cyan.

Fucking Lithping Litha, I can't take anything she says seriously. What a joke of a country.

They're probably getting government subsidies for bringing diversity.

As a British YouTuber showed, there are entire TOWNS in the UK now that are 90%+ Pakistani. Not a street or neighborhood, the entire TOWN.

Oh and they don't speak English much as they just import their wives and extended families straight from Pakistan so Urdu it is.....

Too bad Labor wants millions upon millions more.

All of these towns, not that it needed saying, existed long before their new residents arrived. You can debate about the exact economic, governmental and social mechanisms that caused one population to be turned wholesale into another, but as the saying goes, "The purpose of a system is what it does". The native populations were replaced.

We live on a very old island. Every single town in our country (bar the handful of shit post-war concrete inventions like Milton Keynes) has its own unique history, and to some extent, its own unique group of people, each with slightly different accents, dialects, traditions, foods, and general ways of doing things. For many of these towns (and a growing number), that story has been essentially cut at the stem, and a new one was grafted on in its place (one typically with more dodgy chicken shops, rubbish in the streets and loud financed Audis). While no person was directly killed and replaced by the state, the peoples of those towns are gone. Reduced by low birth rates, with the pared down stock cast into the wind to disperse into other areas after their home had been irrecoverably transformed. A smattering of ethnic cleansings writ small throughout the country.

@Spunt finished reading your post. It was hilarious, reminded me of Cracked.com back in the day (pre-2014 at least). Reading the saga of Tory PMs and the SNP, I think I’ve seen the biggest batch of unintentional comedy this side of an E3 press conference (the PMs alone each sound like a Konami 2010). Also, I’m kind of surprised to see how much the SNP has taken a nosedive ever since John Oliver did his piece on Scottish Independence.

Trying to remember that one scientist who was the crutch for early Covid lockdown policy who turned out to be some kind of alarmist who was desperate to lock people down for anything (mad cow was one). Turned out after advising the government to lock people down he had been sneaking out of his home to go quietly fuck his mistress out of sight from his wife. That leaked story I believe had Dom Cummings’ fingers all over it when they needed to get rid of him.
That was Neil Ferguson (not the author) of Imperial College London. Yes, he was an alarmist over Mad Cow disease and he was again over Covid. Additional information: the UK govt. was pursuing the Swedish model and it was Ferguson's models that persuaded the government to do it's "two weeks to flatten the curve" year of brutal lockdowns. Here's why I'm responding though: Ferguson refused to release the software used to do the modelling. Eventually, after much pressure and little choice, he "did so". Except he didn't. Google provided software developers who spent a month going through the code and revising it. Only then did they release the revised version. And it was deeply flawed. Unrepeatable results from run to run of the model, lossy outputs, comparison of data by comparing a generated image of a graph with another meaning run the same software on a different resolution (like, number of pixels resolution) and you get different outcomes.

I'm not really a statistician and I'm definitely not a clinician. But I do know code and this was shit. And they lied in saying this was the actual code so if the version they do release after a month of Google engineers tarting it up is this bad, it is criminal that a national policy of such importance was determined on the basis of what it actually must have been like.

The code they used was a single 15,000 line C file.

Sweden used his same models for their country and his models predicted 90,000 deaths before Summer. Sweden chose not to lock down and guess what - that didn't happen.

I'll stop there because I don't want to tangent more on this thread. But in a way it's not really a tangent because there are few better examples of what is wrong with the UK than an "expert" with a history of being wrong and who from the code demonstrably does not know what he is doing, determining critical national policy simply because he knows the right people and the right people know him.

@Spunt I don't suppose you could publish this as a blog somewhere a bit more neutral? I'd like to send it to my normie friends because I think they'd really enjoy it but they don't understand opsec and I don't want them going on the Farms without a VPN. If it's too much hassle don't worry about it.
FWIW, I think most people are comfortable browsing the farms without a VPN. It's just for logging in that it becomes key. That is just one person's opinion, though and I don't know your jurisdiction or level of caution.

EDIT: For completeness, this is the repo of the edited code they released with it's copious unaddressed issues. And keep in mind this is NOT what they actually used, this is the polished version: https://github.com/mrc-ide/covid-sim

In these dark and dismal zoomer times of 3-hour 'Rise and Fall' documentaries it's wonderful to see someone who still has such great command of the written word.

Sorry, I wall off anything I write here from anything I write anywhere else. I don't want any accounts on any other site to be linked to my presence here. Those worlds don't mix.

Her gaffe with Lavrov about Rostov and Voronezh made her look like an asshole, but honestly that may have just been her drawing the short straw on who he decided to troll; I can't imagine that, say, Susan Power or Justin Trudeau wouldn't have fallen for that gag.

Reading between the lines on her premiership, it seems like she fancied herself a Reagan or Thatcher type of reformer while first, misunderstanding the facts on the ground in the UK and second, making the Trump-esque mistake of believing that the "Civil service" served anyone except itself. The fact that unelected bureaucrats and retarded office politics have more control over who the PM is than the actual voting public is, well, the absolute state of Britian. Though it will never not be funny that if Britian was some LatAm shithole like (say) Argentina or El Salvador, Truss could have forced her agenda through with mass firings or arrests of the bureaucracy.
Tory leaders are rarely elected for their skill in any department. They are always a stooge ready to take the fall for some plan their faction has behind closed doors. They get a chance to lead and instead of picking someone who can lead them pick a punching bag for private eye and have I got news for you knowing they have 6-12 months to force through their schemes before another party outs them for some past scandal and they try the same thing.

Ethnic voting also applies to whites. None of the conservative base wanted a paki in charge, it's insulting to the old tory places who are so anti-immigrant to see another brown person in charge. The tories pushing to be as woke as labour makes their leader look like another boat person despite being a millionaire. Brown is brown and they're invading our land is the motto of the actual right wingers still voting tory because they're scare labour will steal their country sports or fill the local pub with muslims. Farage taps into that demographic and he's white enough for them. Labour ran a jew but he has pale enough skin not to be an obvious "no pakis in muh government" knee jerk reaction.
So if I understand correctly, the UK is now at the "it is absolutely a crisis" levels of foreign residency, and the one thing all three major parties agree on is that there hasn't been nearly enough immigration yet.
It's way past that point now due to breeding. And yes, the major parties don't think having unfiltered migrants living off benefits is a bad idea. Mean while natives are struggling to survive and having to rely on hand outs because everything is so beyond fucked the best way to live in the UK is to fake a days work, get on benefits and then try for disability where your ajudge is likely to be of a foreign ethnic group. Placed there specifically so when your paki/polish mates apply they all get on the highest level of disability and the whole house is bringing in 15 grand a year so the house house has 150,000 quid or more to spend. One probably runs a shop or barbers on the side where most of them take shifts to keep the grift alive.

It's not even just towns any more. Small villages are starting to see it. They're even shipping them into Scottish villages now because there's no where else to put them and yet they seem to think this is sustainable and not going to end badly.

Most of those people fled to other countries or other areas of the UK but that's not possible any more. You can't even move to a sleepy village in the south without expecting London to give any spare houses (or entire hotels) to these locust. The hotels are especially bad as they ship in 100+ and let them roam free as long as they come home at night and most of them never do. They disappear into the towns after commuting crimes locally (often sexual ones) and then it's a train ride to London and never seen again. With all the face scanning cameras they want, you'd expect them to be using them to track the rapists but instead they want to scan your face while driving and send you a fine for speeding over stopping an invasion of the country.
Make a throwaway blog. One that's just for hosting this tourist's guide and nothing else.
Why do you want him to reveal himself off the farms? He's clearly in the UK and using public blogs is a risk to his freedom. There is a reason why people in the UK have to be careful with what they say online unless they can trust the website they're on not to sell them out and have it split from their real identity.

A fun read from the Telegraph

The UK begins to see religious/ethnic voting patterns and quite probably the beginnings of outright ethno-religious political parties and voting blocs

Fucking hilarious. Something about importing the 3rd world....

Oh good. Ask the South Africans how that worked out for them.
