I know I've said this before but it's still so wild to me a guy who was making $5000 a month making videos about a hobby he loves somehow wasn't satisfied with it. Dude was making 60k a year with no higher education doing something he was passionate about something very few people actually get to do and just thought "nah, I'm going to go be drug addict and live in a trailer".

I'm going through the Pro Crastinator's podcast (at least up until all the interesting members leave and it just becomes Ben Saint seething about politics every episode) and it really is insane how much of a leg up Digi had, it really deserves to be analyzed and recorded for posterity in this thread. His parents basically gave him and his two brothers the house that was their family home for at least a couple of years, I'm uncertain of the exact details of the situation. He lived probably very close to rent-free and had friends and colleagues like his then YouTube editor Davoo and Ben Saint move in and live with him for a while. He either leased or owned (probably leased) a BMW SUV at the peak of his YouTube earnings, his father worked at some car dealership, and Digi no doubt got a very good deal on it. Sure he was mildly successful on Youtube but it really can't be understated just how much his parents (his father at least) also helped him out immensely at the same time, he had every opportunity and seemingly squandered it all.

His parents offered to pay his way through college, offered him a job at his dealership, gave him a house and he threw it all away to smoke weed and get buttfucked in a trailer. Even if he had totally lost passion for anime which we know isn't true he could have just faked and it held out for a few more years and built up savings to coast off of while he figured out what to do next. Instead he alienated his audience.

Apparently the impetus for all of this was Digi disavowing lolicon on twitter.

I do not care to find the tweet, but Digi explains that when someone asked him "is this a joke?" Digibro responded by posting 3 pictures of "what I [Digibro] would describe as loli art, but not a single one registered to me [Digibro] as sexual in nature, they were just cute art."

Digi is getting extremely desperate for relevance lately. With him openly beefing with his ex-rival AnimeSnob and posting streams like this, I find it all to be a bit transparent and weak.
