The thing people are forgetting is that in order to win Trump would need to get at least 280~285ish Electoral Votes, a 269 tie or 270 win wouldn't cut it, in 2016 Trump lost two electoral votes in Texas to Faithless Electors. You can bet this time there will be more, especially if the race is close.

I posted a long reply and deleted it because I realized I had highlighted NJ as red in the map I was using. I fucked up, so I nuked the post. lol.

Trump needs all of the states he won in 2020, maintain his current comfortable leads in NV, AZ, and GA, and then win one other state like PA, VA, WI, and MI to win and combat the concern of faithless electors.

(It helps that Texas, Ohio, and Florida have gained electors in recent years, too)

Barring any honkening, Trump has more paths to victory than Biden. And with the current numbers from NY coming out, it looks like the Biden campaign may have to spend resources where they didn't anticipate, which will help Trump's paths to victory even further regardless of whether he loses NY or not.

Resources, might I add, that they might not have. Political goodwill and donations are burning up fast, and Biden is losing a lot of support. This whole thing might just leave the democrats treading water if Trump is lucky.

One of my liberal boomer friends posted a meme saying "Even if he falls asleep in the middle of 5th street I'ld still vote for Joe Biden"
Yeah the non-delusional ("he's fine he was just tired during the debate"*) ones cope with "I would vote for Biden even if he was a corpse. You're voting for a team, not really the guy, and Biden's team is competent. So it doesn't matter he's too old."

*(I've even heard "he did well during the debate, everyone's just exaggerating"?!)

I agree with you. Realistically the map looks like this right now with Trump having 268 votes already leaning his way. Of course with Republican under performance in recent elections Biden may be able to over preform expectations in the tossups but he'd have to win them all to win without Electoral College help.

Republican voters have more or less abandoned the GOP ... But have embraced MAGA. Trump is the one who gets the voters to come out right now (cope and seethe, Mitt Romneys of the world lol).

If the polls are in any way accurate, then Virginia appears to be a true tossup state (when Biden won by double digits in 2020), and Trump has recently surged his lead in Pennsylvania.

I would also give Wisconsin and Michigan to Trump, but they're tossups due to obvious honkening going on there (and especially with the recent Wisconsin Supreme Court giving the OK at free-for-all ballot drop boxes).

Basically, what I'm saying is that if the election were held today and I had faith in fair and honest elections, then I would undoubtedly say that Trump would win by an electoral landslide. But, because of what happened in 2020, I can't confidently say what I think lies ahead.

Wisconsin is definitely going to Biden, the fortifications are dug in too deep there.

Most likely, yeah.

About a year or two ago, Republican activists (and even Trump himself, when he first announced he was running again) talked a big game about embracing ballot harvesting, but it's been quiet as of late. I mean, I hope they've embraced it, quite frankly.

I honestly believe that the GOP gained the slim majority in the House in 2022 because the California Republicans who ran and won embraced a ballot harvesting initiative. They even admitted it, and it got them results.

As much as I hate to say it, Republicans need to finally face the truth that's waving right in front of them and start playing the game to win.

To paraphrase the TV series, Cobra Kai, "You can't honor an agreement with those who have no honor." It's a losing game to play by the rules when the other side cheats all of the time. Plain and simple.

In 2020, it was the mail-in ballot initiative that made it hard to decipher fake ballots vs real ones. In 2024, it's going to be the illegals voting that's going to make it hard to decipher fake ballots vs real ones.

Biden called Zelensky “President Putin,” while at NATO, and naturally, everyone is considering this a nail in the coffin moment for Biden. “Joever” is trending on Xitter currently.

What rules is that while I was off fact-checking to make sure this wasn't one of those so-called "deepfakes", I actually found a clip of Biden doing this exact same thing 11 months ago. Bonus startled Justin Trudeau. https://youtu.be/watch?v=Lh2PGz3spxY

Nah this is one of those cheapfakes, where it did happen and everyone saw it but you're supposed to disbelieve it anyways because you didn't see the entire thing.
