While democrats vow to vote for roadkill, remember all the times they claimed Trump is not presidential. As if it ever meant anything to them. Maybe ask if Biden shitting his diaper in public is presidential.
This is what makes partisan politics so awful. Had it been Trump who was mentally out of it during the debate, the media's narrative would be, "OMG! He's unfit for office," and not ,"OMG, why are you judging a candidate on one bad debate?" If a bad debate doesn't matter, why bother with the debates? (/rhetorical)
in 2016 Trump lost two electoral votes in Texas to Faithless Electors. You can bet this time there will be more, especially if the race is close.
Could Biden potentially lose Electoral Votes from faithless electors this year? With some of his own party members losing faith in him, it's not totally outside the realm of possibility.
As much as I hate to say it, Republicans need to finally face the truth that's waving right in front of them and start playing the game to win.
I think Trump may have screwed himself over in 2020 by criticizing absentee balloting and inadvertently dissuading people who wanted to vote for him via absentee from doing so.
When dealing with bureaucracy in any form, sometimes playing the game is the best way to get what you want if you know how to play the system.
In 2020, it was the mail-in ballot initiative that made it hard to decipher fake ballots vs real ones. In 2024, it's going to be the illegals voting that's going to make it hard to decipher fake ballots vs real ones.
Especially in the liberal areas where they give illegals ballots to supposedly vote for state and local stuff only. Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but there's no assurance those voters won't be given a ballot with the Presidential election and other items to vote on that they supposedly shouldn't be getting.
Jill Biden will go down as the worst wife ever. I would NEVER EVER let my husband humiliate himself like this if his health were declining like this.
I recently discussed this with someone and we agreed that Jill seems hooked on the prestige and status that comes with being first lady - so much so she cares more about that than her husband's well-being.
And this came out this morning, before the trash fire press conference.
This is hilarious. Back in 2020, the Dems were claiming Trump was going to win because of Russian bots, interference, etc. Since it didn't happen then, why should this same tired argument be believed four years later?
I've been a Trump supporter since 2016. That said, I'm not afraid to say that his age does concern me. We aren't seeing anything concerning or alarming in regards to Trump's overall health right now
The people I know who aren't diehard members of either big party are put off by both Trump's and Biden's age. At most, since his original term, I've only heard speculation that Trump is mentally unstable. As for Biden, the answer has revealed itself in his recent public appearances - especially his ones in the evenings.
Also seriously, you guys have a minimum age to run for President, why isn’t there a Maximum?
Probably because age maximums in many fields were reversed as (age) discrimination. At a prior job, i had access to past and present contracts and the old versions used to have maximum age limit before mandatory retirement. Over time, the clause included, "If allowed by law" and eventually disappeared when it became illegal.
One would hope voters that don't want someone too old or otherwise undesirable for presidency to simply not vote for them. What doesn't help are the diehards previously mentioned in the thread who will vote for their preferred candidate no matter what and the overall lack of viable alternatives.
Independent of political leanings, the biggest issue is Biden's overall health. A former nurse and I both noticed Biden seems to be less mentally sharp at night as if he suffers from sundowning. What concerns me more from past experience with older people is the fact that what little we see as the public is concerning enough but what we likely don't see behind the scenes could paint a more serious picture. And of course the mass media machine doesn't want anyone connecting the dots to see the reality or gravity of the situation.
As much as Dems want to bounce and squeak over that big 2025 plan - whatever its called - I can't help wondering what they're doing behind the scenes is no different - Especially if they now have to plan for Biden being unable to finish a potential second term in terms of who would take over (presumably Harris) and how different the political agenda would be moving forward. I have a feeling that could be just as unpalatable to the average voter if the details ever leaked out.
