Mega Rad Gun Thread

so I’m looking for a semi-auto M4. I just don’t have over a thousand dollars to spend on short notice.
Palmetto state armory ar's are considered one of the best poverty rifles (durability wise) I believe for most people. You can buy one ready to shoot for around 400 dollars (I think direct from their website its more like 500 but always wait for a sale from them if buying direct) and there are videos of people putting 400+ rounds of sustained fire through them before they melt, they are really good rifles for the price (imo).
I would recomend saving up for something better, perhaps even gucci though if your only planning on having one gun, your going want something your gonna want to make love to at that point

Also you can actually buy a m249 in semi auto brand new from FN for 9-12k and convert it to full auto after a tax stamp from the atf

Can't you just find one that fell off a truck and simply not say anything?

But then you realize the M249 is heavy, gets fucking dirty quickly, and has dog shit range compared to anything in .30 cal. So then you wish your armory bro had "accidentally" dropped an M240G instead.

Or something like that.

We are a few months out from the election and it seems congress is mostly in deadlock, so unless he's concerned about a local/state ban in his area Id not be terribly concerned.
We just came within an inch of shit getting very crazy in this country. Who the hell knows what might happen between now and inauguration day, regardless of who wins the election.

Get a Timney trigger
I'm not a fan of drop-in cassette triggers for defense / fighting rifles. They're not easy to clean or perform maintenance on. The Schmid 2 stage, Larue MBT-2S or one of the many Geissele triggers are more practical options.

I had no problem with other uppers on that lower, Anderson is the only one that gave me problems.
Anderson has never had good QC. I bought a 2 pack of Anderson stripped lowers back in early 2020 for $60. Both are fine, but you're flipping a coin when you spend $30 on a lower.

A slightly more expensive option is an IWI Zion.
I think the Zion-15 is a really good option for a decent complete rifle under $900, but some people balk at buying something made by an Israeli company. Makes no sense to me, since all the major brands sell to cops and the feds.

I'm poor so a laser training cartridge has helped me train and has shown me things about my technique and pistol that have already helped me be a better shooter. It's so nice because I'd rather save more ammo than I shoot, since I don't buy ammo often.
The Mantis dry fire devices are pretty handy for people who don't dry fire enough. They kind of gamify dry fire and help keep it interesting for people who find dry fire practice boring. Mantis sells their Blackbeard thing that resets AR triggers, but for pistols, there's the DryFireMag. None of this stuff is cheap, but when used regularly, people will save money in ammo they'd otherwise be pissing away at the range, not really running drills.

I don’t have the time or money to go to the range and practice shooting pistols to be sure that doesn’t happen to me. I want what I know how to use.
This is the kind of thing that can be solved at home with regular dry fire and weapon manipulation practice. For people with weaker hands/arms (women especially), releasing a locked back slide is as simple as gripping the back of the slide with your off hand and pulling back while pushing forward with your primary hand on the grip.

Yes, for clarity I want the cheapest good AR
then you're down to a PSA AR-15, a S&W M&P Patrol rifle, or a Ruger AR-556. PSA will be the least expensive option and is something i can actually see being alright as a fighting rifle to hand out to someone. both the S&W and Ruger are well made and cost-optimized as in use by some small municipal and county departments as a standard patrol rifle. Rock River is another one. BCM will be a cut above all of these but may be out of your price range. Andersen is alright and i wouldn't feel bad about it if i was able to inspect beforehand and function test.

something like an S&W M&P Sport III (or consider a Sport II on discount somewhere) is also an option and has only slight differences than the M&P Patrol in terms of out of the box features, but the actual build quality is the same.

stop agonizing over this, collect your funds together and search for the least expensive option of the ones i mentioned and you will not be disappointed. stick with XM193 or XM855 ammunition. if ammunition cost is a distinct factor consider something like PMC Bronze or S&B .223 as practice ammo.

Yes, for clarity I want the cheapest good AR. Somewhere under $700 preferably. I want to have a rifle in my house with ammo before the end of this year. There is an affordable PSA rifle on guns.com but it doesn’t have built in sights, so I’d have to spend more money and time deciding on an optic. I would like to get an optic but I want something with sights in case I don’t have the time or money to get an optic picked out.
I'd put at least $100 towards some fancy ammo you don't plan on shooting. Get some $1 a round heavy weight defense or hunting ammo and just have your mags loaded with that. Should put down the opps in less rounds than 193 or 855. In the grand scheme of things, don't skimp on ammo that will save your life, save the FMJs and steel case for the range

You have to be an SOT to legally manufacture post sample machine guns, and the semi auto 249 isn’t easily converted.

On my latest safari to see what Reddit faggots are up to I saw they uploaded a picture purportedly of security teams at Jan6.
What the ever loving fuck are these reflective stickers on their slides and what is the purpose?

I was listening to some guy talk to Potentialy Criminal about the Trump shooting and he said that Secret Service uses markings like that for less lethal weapons.

I understand and I mostly agree with the reasons for getting a pistol instead of an AR. Thankfully I am nobody important so unlike Null I don’t have any reason to be ambushed. I even live in a mostly law and order oriented city. Mostly. I feel I can worry about a pistol later. Right now I’m looking at the climate of the USA and I want to be prepared. I have experience with an M4 and M249. I can’t get an M249 and it wouldn’t be much use to me anyway so I’m looking for a semi-auto M4. I just don’t have over a thousand dollars to spend on short notice.

I went to the range with a woman once and she used a pistol while I borrowed the AR. Time after time her pistol locked and wouldn’t rechamber because she wasn’t strong enough to hold it right. I don’t have the time or money to go to the range and practice shooting pistols to be sure that doesn’t happen to me. I want what I know how to use.
DS Arms. Its not even close for quality vs price with any other company I've laid hands on. Chrome barrel, competent assembly, nice finishes.

Learn something new everyday didn't know they were cassette triggers but for the whole cleaning thing I'm not that concerned as I have a Wolf A1 upper which is a T91 with a slightly different front block (no under rail) and it's piston operated and runs very clean as the brunt of the fouling occurs up front at the piston head. Downside is eventually I'll be needing a replacement assembly after a few thousand rounds and I had to get an anti-tilt buffer seeing as pistons have a tendency to make the bolt angle slightly downward but all that said the things a beauty and handles like a bb gun.

DS Arms makes some nice reproduction FALs though the plastic mags are dogshit. Unfortunately steel mags cost $50 a pop or more if you're lucky to find some at a gun show, and DSA has still yet to follow up on their promise of producing steel mags.

Is it a crime to enjoy a succulent egg mcmufffin?

Is It a crime to want people to have reliable and excellent handguns so that when bad men try and remove them from the corporeal realm, they can adequately defend themselves?

Gentlemen, this is democracy, manifest.
Everyone should own at least one Glock 19, no matter what other guns you favor.

Errybody want's a belt-fed 5.56 until they realize that 5.56 is kinda bad as a machinegun round.

All my favorite guns are jewish. Say what you want about the kikes, but when you spend thousands of years planning to kill everyone around you, you develop some really fucking solid guns.
sad hava nagila noises
