Mega Rad Gun Thread

Forgot to ask, what kind of AK is it?
it's a nothing fancy century 74. i know they may not have the best reputation, but ive owned it for 10 years or more at this point and have shot literally thousands of rounds of surplus ammo through it with zero issues. i can even get pretty decent groupings out of it (for an ak that is) only issue i have is currently finding a good supply of cheap ammo in stock. 5.45 is just so difficult to find. and in any sort of SHTF scenario im just out of luck with it. (that's when i need the ar)

Smith and wesson sucks cock
Fun Fact: The holding company which owns the stupid revolver interlock design owns Smith and Wesson proper, which is why they refuse to make a proper revolver.

My 586 is a no-dash, with the firing pin on the hammer. I won't buy a new one with a lock, and with the boomers starting to die off I'll be able to pick up a Model 29 soon enough.

Pick any Ruger handgun in 9x19. Shoot the hell out of it, and if it breaks, they have exemplary customer service.
The only Ruger pistol I owned was the SR1911 and it kept having the front sight blow up every 200-300 rounds and I kept sending it back for a replacement a few times until I got fed up and sold it… and then the atf came to my place for records on who I sold it to because they sold it to some gangbanger who robbed a store and dropped it.

Regular carry guns your actually going to be comfortable wearing all year round though would be like a used ruger lcp if your lucky in .357 for 400 (new its like 800) or a lc9 (300ish

You can aiwb a Glock 19 year round. It’s been my edc all the time even in summer when I’d wear shirts. A lighter plaid shirt designed for summer works best.

How could you forget Hi-Point, the handgun for the discerning nigger? Also avoid Cobra. I got to play with one and laughed my ass off when I saw the safety. Up is safe, down is live, but smacking the pistol even a little bit makes the lever fall down. Everything else on the gun was sticky, except for the useless safety.2View attachment 6203843
Bruh hi point makes great guns for 200 dollars, you should look up the torture tests and reviews from buyers, not to mention being a patriotic american company helping to put guns in the most broke ass hands and give them a fair means of protection.
Literally the hate just stems from redditors and boomers seething a redneck in wisconsin making 27k a year can be able to afford a reliable firearm thats not a "cz lul eggs dee czech space magic upvote gun" or a "yeeeeep, kimber mmmhhmmm now thats a real gun yep". That along with nigger chimps that will forever tarnish hi-points name, yes they get used in crime constantly because niggers and meximonkeys cant just not constantly kill each for literally no reason which you CANNOT blame hipoint for its literally their groided out nature

Frankly I will not tolerate hi point slander under my watch good sir 😡

The thing about high points is you can get a dramatically better gun for not much more money.

Getting this in a week. I have no delusions of grandeur where I John Connor the incumbent threat. I just want something I can wear day to day that will save me from pistol and shit tier draco rounds, but not be visible to any dork.
As I mentioned, I wear 3 piece suits and casual bdu shit out. Any reason I shouldn't get this and decent armor to put in it?
Gimme the good shit, I don't imagine I'll be the juggernaut in any situation, I just want to eat pistol and up to low level rifle rounds from a completely stealth position if I put plates in it, no one can tell I have a pistol or rig on. I'm not a sissy who cares about YOU WILL BE AT LEAST 25 DEGREES CELSIUS HOTTER THAN EVERYONE AROUND!!!!
Body armor, and with the caveat that I will bear wearing it from delivery (potentially a week, and with whatever I drop in it) to doomsday, is the modus.
It's part of my Get in Get out Kit. I have stuff for sustained warfare already.

Thats actually fucking hillarious but also good to know, both s&w and ruger seem to have shit like that happen, thankfully I havent run into any problems with my .357 lcr (only about 400 or 500 rounds in though). I had a friend with a used older smith pre hillary hole that wouldnt line up the cylinder correctly with the pin when it rotated or something like that and the gunsmith he sent it to just said like (lol its fucked bro) and gave it back to him

I cant stand carrying a larger pistol in my belt, it feels like im carrying a little fucking baby or something and when im driving its always up in my shit where as with a little bepis cannon I can just carry it in my pocket not a care in the world (even in basketball shorts). I know some dudes can cc a deagle and not even notice it but im not about that life unfortunately

"Not much more money"
Bro you can buy one for 50 dollars used wdym, I mean you can also get a drastically better pistol than a glock for not that much more money as well but I have a feeling you might feel a certain way about such a statement

I've seen used ruger security 9s for $175 before. The cheapest I've ever seen a hi point c9 is $100. A security 9 is way better than a hi point in every way.

The only bad thing I've ever heard about Ruger pistols is that they're ugly, and usually a bit heavier than similar pistols in their class.

At least Ruger stopped being gay as a company once Bill left this mortal coil. Smith and Wesson still refuses to make the lock an option instead of mandatory in their now $1k plus revolvers for some reason, long after they stopped needing to care.

Depends on the pistol. The ruger p series is awesome. But the new rugers are "meh". I have a ruger 57 and LCP max. They're serviceable. The security 9s, max 9s, I've handled felt similar similar. Rattley slides, bad triggers, poor finishes, but they go bang every time and are cheap enough you can't complain.

You're going to have to get really thin plates and even them it'll look weird. Why not try level II or IIIa soft armor? Better coverage, and covers all common street rounds. Sure, you're missing on rifle coverage but I'd put good money you're much more likely to have an encounter with pistol rather than a "pistol".

Dude! That's how I got mine. Same deal, except for the price ($690). I was looking to get a 1911 (because 1911), then the USP just kind of fell into my lap & I couldn't not buy it given the price of a new one. Guy said he bought it brand new in '95, shot it once, and then threw it in the closet for the next twenty-five years. Nearly immaculate, save for the wear on the barrel.
Some guys have all the luck.
I won't buy a new one with a lock, and with the boomers starting to die off I'll be able to pick up a Model 29 soon enough.
That's how I got mine. They're worth it, especially if you plan on actually shooting it.

Why a 3 piece?

Dam bro a hipoint, for not that much more you can get a ruger
Dam bro a ruger, for not that much more you can get a glock
Dam bro a glock, for not that much more you can get a cz
Dam bro a cz, for not that much more you can get a h&k
The latter is better than the former in every way bro just spend a bit more even though you can trade a hipoint for a large pizza and diet bepis

Just buy a police trade-in Glock. "But muh grip angle." Fine, get a PSA Dagger. Even most of the Canik TP9 series can be purchased for under $400.

As an aside, I have a Taurus G2C that my brother gave me a while back. Now, I obviously only have a sample size of one, but I put a bit over 2k rounds through it before getting bored of it, and it fed and fired everything without a single malfunction. 124gr Speer Gold Dots, 124gr S&B FMJ, 124gr Norma FMJ, 124gr Belom FMJ, and even a bunch of that god fucking awful Winchester brown box 115gr FMJ steel case that makes Tula and Wolf look like match grade ammo. I'm pretty sure you can get a G2C or G3C for $250 any day of the week. But if you have $400, get a police trade-in Glock or a Dagger or a Canik instead.

Sunk costs on the production line.

S&W makes limited run stuff without the lock on occasion.

You DO know that any semi talented gunsmith can get rid of the lock and plug the hole right? RIGHT????

If you're still that asshurt about it, lol, enjoy Taurus. I'll be enjoying my S&W revolvers all day.

Having an AR-15 for deer hunting makes no sense period. Not only is it illegal in most states to hunt deer with a 556 round, its terminal ballitics are too poor to guarantee a humane kill. I live in Florida, which has some of, if not the, smallest deer in the nation and I use an AR-10 chambered in .308. Had to buy a 5 round magazine just to meet hunting regs too.
Bro you can hunt Whitetail with 5.56 in most States. I've done it myself. 5.56 is fine for deer if you're a decent shot.
I normally use .308/7.62 NATO tbf but .223/5.56 is fine for deer.
Shit I've taken feral Hogs with 5.56.
I've never had a problem when I've used 5.56, as long as you're not at long range, it's fine. Hornady make a 60 grain spire point that's designed for Whitetail.

You're right that the 5.56 was originally not designed for game though, militaries switched to it because its light and you can carry more than .308 or 30 06 that they used to use.
Really if you're hunting bigger game you want a .308 at least though.
Huh, thought it was a pretty common cartridge for small game hunting in the US. I know it's illegal for hunting here in Germany, but then again, our restrictions are pretty draconic anyway. Thought the US was mostly pretty lax with that. Still, .223 probably wouldn't drop a deer reliably anyway.
It is, as long as you're not using weak loads at stupid ranges. Most of the places I hunt is in fairly close woodland, or in a hide, I'm not normally shooting at over 60 or 70 yards and normally a lot closer.
Hornady make 60 grain loads designed specifically for Whitetail deer.
Now some States may have different regulations, but most States in the US as far as I know, (and I've done it in a few) 5.56/.223 is perfectly legal for deer.

The best Smith and Wesson revolvers are used, without a lock, which is known to fail under recoil.

Cope and Seethe.

What would you consider a drastically better pistol then?
I have a P80 19 size frame with a Dagger slide I've had for a few years, since that was my only real option to getting a solid carry piece. In not a whole lot longer I'll be able to get a real pistol, and hopefully leave the P80s for different situations. The P80 with a PSA slide has been great for me, and has only had a few malfunctions due to limp wristing or reman. I've let others shoot it and it sucks, but that's definitely just limp wristing. Probably 2K rounds through it and it still feels very solid and snug, with no noticeable rattle or movement.
I had a Holosun on the thing for maybe 500 rounds, but sold it for a lil more than I paid. Wasn't totally impressed with it, at least with whatever reticle it had. The dot would move way the fuck more than a Crossfire I have on a different pistol, so I'm not really sure what that was about.

I like the G48 and 365, but the MC2sc, Delta M, MC9, Hellcat, Avidity PD10, 43 Dagger, and Grand Power P11/Q1S MK23 look pretty decent too. Maybe by the time it's time, Revo Arms may have launched a compact size frame.

I've printed a number of frames just to get a feel for them, and have handled a number irl, but have only really shot 19s and non defense style pistols. The 19X Dagger was very comfortable, but was much more rattly than my P80 and the trigger was mushy. The pins also were coming out, so I flattened the ends a bit for the person who's gun it was.
I'm not really able to test as state doesn't really have indoor ranges, let alone rentals, at least within a 2 hour drive.

I shot some .380 super small Glock like 10 years ago, and it was kinda dogshit and I didn't like it, P80 is more comfortable. Wish they'd make the 43 or 48 in 380, and make it strong enough to handle +P+ loads. Even better would be the 48 or 43 in .30SC, but who knows when either will happen.
