This just looks like lawyers trying to dig up everything they can with hope they can poke enough holes to discredit the testers. Can't remember where but saw some defense attorney explain you go after everything from education of the tester to when the last time the machines had maintenance done on them.

I could see something like that work on a jury trial but child welfare is usually handled more like a civil case unless Minnesota has their own rules.

Looks pretty boilerplate to me. When the only possible way you win is getting the evidence thrown out, you want everything about it. Even one fuckup that breaks a chain of custody or calls it into question can add up to reasonable doubt. You're hoping someone unqualified did the test, that they didn't follow their own manual, that the equipment wasn't properly maintained, that they didn't keep maintenance records, pretty much anything.

If this guy White routinely does drug cases he probably submits something nearly identical in every case.

The newest motion from Nick and Kayla's attorney is quite frankly insane. That both attorneys put their name to such a thing really makes me question any competence either of them have. I don't think either really seems to understand family court.

- They lead off with simply demanding the return of the children or massive concessions with regard to the children. They offer no reasoning for this. The previous reports indicate they are not cooperating with the process and really should have no expectations at all.

It's totally unhinged.

He and his wife are facing down possession charges and his daughter tested positive for coke. Someone in this situation is not going to file a single motion to make everything go away. In fact such a request only underlines that they don't fucking get the seriousness of what is going on and undermines their position.

- Trying to outright remove the GAL. I don't think they even understand what that role is. The GAL represents the interests of the children. They are not a prosecutor.

He is doing what he did during his civil case with and is speed-running turning literally everyone involved in the case against him. The safest and most obvious way to go about things, and what his and Kayla's appointed counsel likely told them before they were both fired, is that he needs to follow what he has been instructed to do to demonstrate his suitability to be granted custody back with a smile on his face. No doubt Nick now blames them for the fact that they took the tests in the first place.

- Attempting to argue again for a blanket protective order. This time arguing that Nick's fame is so great that the state's open records laws should not apply.

Rekieta wants the truth sealed while he gets to spread lies about the people who have stepped in to save his children from him.

Rekieta on his show accused a county employee of having perjured herself. He's now accusing the GAL of some sort of misconduct for successfully getting her hands on the hair test records which no doubt show that Nick and/or Kayla Rekieta were users of illicit drugs. This grievance will also probably get brought up on his show at some point.

He sure doesn't act like someone who wants his case private. He acts like someone who wants to lie, smear the people protecting his children from him and his wife and project a front that what is happening to him is an affront to justice when the truth is his daughter tested positive for hard drugs.

I don't know if we know for sure how this request went, but considering his snide social media comments around this time and lack of smugness announcing some sort of win, I'm going to guess he didn't get his way.
