Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Here's a trailer for MWIII's Season 5:

Any thoughts?
Not really, for some reason the vibe of the trailer feels more like FIFA/FC than CoD, even more so than usual. Zombies is gonna get content potentially similar in size to Season 1, but it feels like too little too late. At this point I only leave the game on to max out battle passes for more points. Definitely looking forward to try out Black Ops 6 when the beta starts at the end of August, though.

I know the cosmetics are dumb but come the fuck on lol

I've stopped taking its lore seriously when they tried to add into it from post-game content for Warzone. CoD has turned into a MCU for shooter addicts. Even Fortnite managed it better than CoD.

Wait, so is there now "lore" for why Skeletor is running around with a rifle in Russia?

Call of Duty lost its balls when they just decided to start adding in fake guns and giving every gun a fake name for some reason.

I don't think there's been "lore" in the multiplayer since Vanguard decided to have its final season be some apocalypse volcano event featuring Godzilla, King Kong and all of the villains from every CoD game showing up.

That was...what? Two years ago now? If it took them this long to figure it out they're fucking retarded.

They stopped shoving random stories into warzone now which is good, however I guess it had fans though.

Have they fixed Zombies yet or are you still forced to play with other squads on the same server?

Don't some characters die in the single player only to be resurrected in the sequel?
It only ever happened with Alex/Graves.

Alex’s thing was retarded he should have stayed alive but they wanted to give him a prosthetic leg, and I honestly think Graves was they wanted to see the reception and they they saw people liked him so he came back.

Would you be surprised that this isn't even close to how retarded actual, confirmed canon of the zombies mode is? Whatever retarded shit Warzone or nu-COD is running with, it will never come close to approaching the peaks we've seen in Zombies

Reminder, all of this is actually canon, as the Zombies universe destroys the original COD universe(the one with OG WW2 games, BO games, OG MW trilogy) after the events of "Buried" and then we jump into MCU style multiverses, before all of those are retconned out of existence in the map "Tag Der Toten", which then somehow ends with this rebooted nu-COD universe that started with MW2019(altho there are hints that the first game in this new timeline was Infinite Warfare, as canonically MW2019 is the prequel to that game). Cold War and nu-MW trilogy takes place in the same universe and Cold War confirms that the old COD Universe has been destroyed and what remains of it now is called "The Dark Aether". If we're gonna talk COD lore, we're gonna be here all day and this is not an exaggeration. Just accept that Skeletor is now here, okay?

People give Infinity Ward shit for their boring by the books stories but ill take that over tryhard Treyarch autism. I thought about this the other day but we have known these characters for nearly 20 years, have gotten a reboot but you genuinely do not know ANYTHING about them. Why did they join the SAS, Why did they become a CIA backed task force, why do they do what they do? Even the most generic of generic action movies have background reasoning never for the modern warfare series. Arguably, the only character that got something is Gaz(I like black gaz) the entire setup in 2019 was "Why does Price have Gaz as his second" and its shown that Gaz will go over the line when price needs him. There was even a good scene in MW3 with Gaz holding Ghost/Soap back from killing Shepherd outright.

I like the reboot story line sue me, and of all the issues MW22/3 had taken they made the right call in making the multiplayer seasons random bullshit and not story altering. MW2019 is what got me back into COD but the season stories it got turned into non sense and barely anyone but lore autists cared for it.

Alex was brought back just to shut up the Ghost=Alex fags, which is why the promo revealing his return has ghost interacting with him.

Graves surviving the tank was being predicted from day 1 so not really a surprise.

Isn't the OG MW timeline in a different timeline from the BO games? Also, don't the BO games (WaW, BO1-4, Cold War) all take place in the same timeline with the MW Reboot and Vanguard? Or am I missing something?

Call of Duty has some of the most cringe and worst marketing in gaming, I think the gameplay is pretty good, especially the Treyarch games, but Activision sucks the dick of Normalfags,Spics, and Niggers and it annoys me

Vanguard, Black Ops 1, Cold War and the first Modern Warfare reboot all roughly took place in the same timeline through Warzone. (I guess you could argue WWII as well since I think there were character crossovers with Vanguard?)

But it honestly doesn't matter. Activision stopped giving a shit halfway through Vanguard (mostly because the player base didn't give a shit).

The "connected Warzone universe" or whatever they were going for added nothing to each games individual stories, even within Warzone itself. So it's not worth trying to figure out.
