Yes, they won't allow virtual numbers and those that have already been used (doesn't matter if you switched numbers recently and your new number has already been used, you're fucked). The best solution is a different SIM card you have just for this shit. If you exclusively use the social media app on mobile it's less likely you'll be hit with the inevitable "put your phone in or you're locked out" but even then it's just a question of time. The excuse now is 2FA authentication but they've been forcing this for a while.
I've seen that too. It seems that whenever a neat store closes at the local mall, a clothing store takes the place. Seems malls in Current Year are food courts and clothing stores, and little or nothing of anything else. Before Current Year, malls could have bookstore, media store like Suncoast or FYE, and even the short-lived "gimmick" store.
That sucks. Good thing I got email service setup before Current Year.
that and more, like everything is run via fucking apps and alternatives are considered exceptions (like trying to do onlinebanking without one, I don't need and want that shit on my phone). or DHL running parcel stations to send/receive packages which are only usable via app.
Not in NYC, where "smartphones" can be easily stolen because crime there has skyrocketed. Can you imagine being dependent on your "smartphone" to do everything from running appliances to shopping to signing up for email, and then the thing is lost one way or another? It's really crazy how such a recent invention has become such a critical part of "normie" life in such a short time. Go back in time just 10 or 20 years, and the typical "normie" life did not revolve around "smartphones" and "social media" back then.

I can, that's why it's so mindboggling people want all that shit. even the ones who had that exact thing happen before and complained about it are fine doing all of it again without any changes.
The way I live tech-wise is sorta like the '90s in some ways and the '00s in others. I do not plan on "upgrading" that anytime soon.

I used to use Yahoo! and MSN IM. Still have the application files. What replaced IM? Was it "texting" on "smartphones"?
Isn't making things more of a hassle the opposite of "progress"?
