Then we come to the Prodigal Son parable. The parable according to Nick is about the "repentance" of the people who have judged the son who has sinned, squandered his inheritance and then come back to his father. Its not the degenerate person who is the sinner but rather those who called him out for doing wrong. "Sin" to Nick is exclusively the act of judging or calling out the actions of someone else. That is the only wrong in life.
So he heard the bit at the end where the younger brother is corrected and said “ah so he was the villain” and ignored the “he will live as a servant, but you will inherit everything” part.
Of all Bible stories that one has to be the easiest to understand.
“Sinners can always repent and be forgiven, but it’s those who remain true and on the correct path that receive the most reward.”
