Hence the odd weird takes you get in shit like this. Where the "bad guy" seems to come out the most normal and often the most likeable character. We saw it in the abortion that was the Acolyte, we see it in a tonne of movies and we see it tossed in with characters like Rorschach and Nixon.

Hell Hollywood been simping for the Left since the 80's. Ask yourself how often the bad guy or supposedly nasty character was found out to be a *gasp* Republican, Think of all the Simpson episodes where anything dealing with the Right was cast as evil or stupid. Think of all the TV shows where the nasty boss was a obvious GoP stand in. Park and Rec comes to mind really fast with Ron being the supposed bad guy that the audience ends up loving despite everything the writers try to do.

Entertainment has a big impact on how the average drone views the world and the Left learned this way faster then the Right and took advantage of it. Just like education and other cultural institutions. The Left moved in and used them to shape the mindset and values of the upcoming generation and to this day they are still heavily embedded like bloated, plague ridden tick in higher education and are proceeding to twist and warp the young minds placed in their care. Which explains why the smartest and brightest of America has been sabotage and turned on itself in a orgy of destructive self hate.

Shit won't get better until entertainment and education are freed from the blight of the Far Left and their indoctrination machine.

I always thought that Moore writing Rorschach as brave, honorable, and self sacrificing and expecting people to go "wow what a freak I hate him" was a particularly revealing look into the progressive mind and how fucking diseased and warped they are.

Did Moore ever say he expected that or that he totally despised the character? Knowing what little of the man that I do, I know that he wouldn't agree with many of Rorschach's beliefs, but I think he understood enough of how a person could come to be like Rorschach to write the character honestly. As a self-described anarchist, I'd like to think that there's a part of Moore that admires Rorschach, or at least the part of the character that wanted to pursue the truth regardless of laws or consequence. I don't think Moore could have written the character as well as he did if he hated Rorschach as you suggest.

I don't view Watchmen as having any "good guys" and think that the characters that might be normally viewed that way are shown to be deeply flawed individuals whose ideals are pitted against one and other. None of them quite get what they want and the ending implies that the ugly truth with come out, even if it's viewed as some crank conspiracy theory. The ending is not what I would call a happy one, but shows that some of the characters can still find happiness in their lives despite that.

But if you want to point out a satirical President being nice to Dubya look at SNL which was largely being guided by Jim Downey who was a polite conservative. Downey is why Dennis Miller & Norm MacDonald hosted Weekend Update and lampooned the hell out of left.

Also remember we were never so culturally divided as we are today. The internet rewards extremists. I grew up in an America where entertainment wise South Park was the most controversial cartoon. My favorite example is Joel from the Last of Us where Druckman wanted people to view Joel as selfish for saving Ellie from the Fireflies, even to go so far as to confirm that Ellie's death would have 100% created a cure and having Ellie be mad at him for saving her in part 2.

But the issue is that Joel is objectively correct in his actions because:

• The fireflies are incompetent as a faction because every outpost you pass though is destroyed.
• They are desperate and want to use the cure as leverage.
• They have no resource or infrastructure to make and distribute a cure.
• They immediately jump to surgery the hour they get Ellie which makes them seem retarded because an actual researcher would run tests first and also it upset Joel.
• They were going to murder Joel (They walked past his backpack while he was being escorted out at gunpoint also there was no way the Fireflies were able to pay him for going above and beyond anyway.)

Everyone thinks Nixon is this massive, paranoid warmonger, but then you actually listen to him and he's a realpolitick guy and I can see why people voted for him back then.

Nixon was unironically one of our greatest presidents, and Kissinger is the single greatest Sec. of State and one of the most based Jews to ever live (his response to hearing about the USSR persecuting Jews was “who cares, not Americas problem, and intervening would fuck up American interests.”)
But they were republicans, and Nixon really hated commies, so they drove the left insane, and did their damndest to tarnish their reputations. Luckily it seems like, at least on the right, there’s been a critical reexamination of Nixon as of late. And people are waking up to the truth.

I've always been a little confused as to why progressive types wail about Starship Troopers so much. In that world your service transcends any individual personal attribute. A female citizen is superior to and has more privileges than a male non citizen. A black citizen is superior to a white non citizen.

Ability and willingness to serve is significantly more important than race or skin color.
