We have a pretty good example from a few dozen pages back. Where some lefty twitter politics guy made a fake advert for the right with a guy getting fit, having a family, and enjoying life (while also hating jews and minorities). Unironically they think the bad aspects they depict will offset all the otherwise good aspects, when it really doesn't. Similar to how a large portion of the left is willing to put up with crime if it means exotic foods in the cities, the right is willing to put up with racism if it means their children and their future children are prosperous. The priorities are completely different.

A female citizen is superior to and has more privileges than a male non citizen. A black citizen is superior to a white non citizen.

Ability and willingness to serve is significantly more important than race or skin color.

Isn't this largely the kind of world they allegedly claim to want?

No, they want a world that is equitable, AKA a world where people of certain demographics are given extra privileges based on previous wrongs against them to make up for it. A Roman Replublic/ Starship Troopers system where public service gives you a say in how government is ran is the last thing they want.

Also I am pretty sure Verhoeven never read the book and instead had an assistant read it and give him the spark notes.

Basically the film was originally a completely unrelated sci-fi script about hunting space bugs. Then some assistant read the script and said 'that sounds like Starship Troopers' so they hastily bought the film rights to Heinlein's novel and incorporated elements from the book into the existing script

This doesn't make sense after the NABJ thing (doesn't egt any more rigged than that) and is shaping up to be another own-goal IMO.

I think you're both misunderstanding what Trump is doing here. He already did a debate on the Biden's terms, and won obviously. He's not worried about debating Kamala or biased moderators (Fox's moderators would also be biased against him anyway).

This is a strategy to draw attention to her cowardice, the debate is irrelevant. He's putting pressure on her to compromise on his terms for the debate. Her chickening out of the QnA, even though it was hugely hostile to Trump, made her look weak. So now he's capitalizing on that by putting her on the spot.

And she fell for it immediately, what with chickening out of a debate that would be virtually the same as the Biden debate, just on Fox and with an audience. It's not like he's asking for debate terms that would be massively favorable to him, Biden already agreed to nearly exactly this. The correct thing for her would've been to agree and do what Trump did with Biden, say "I'll debate you wherever you want, on whatever terms you want". That looks strong. But she didn't do that, she blinked.

So there's three outcomes possible here:

1) She keeps refusing his terms, and he eventually gives up and debates her at ABC, and we get to see if she's learned anything since Tulsi destroyed her. This is worst case, as it only makes her look a little weak for needing a hostile setting to debate Trump. But we get a debate to watch, so Trump can still make this a win for him.

2) She refuses his terms, he finally gives in, and then she refuses to even do the ABC debate Biden set up. This makes her look very weak and probably pisses off the media too, but deprives us of potentially seeing her self-destruct on live-television.

or 3) Eventually her campaign people get tired of "Chickenmala", and begrudgingly agree to one or more of his terms, be it on Fox or an audience or even just moving the debate up a week. The moment she agrees to any of his terms, he'll start declaring how he made her bend the knee, and not in the way she's used to. Her own side will be outraged that she compromised in his favor, due to the optics: Democrats never compromise. This is the best case outcome, as it makes her look like a pushover and Trump the great negotiator. The debate itself is irrelevant here, just icing on top.

He tried this strategy a bit back in 2016, but Hillary went with option 1 for each debate. Kamala's refusal to show up at the QnA was a strategic mistake though, so she's on weaker footing than Hillary. Plus Trump is on stronger footing, since he already did a debate purely on Biden's terms.

Trump might even keep doing hostile QnA events, just to rub in how much of a chicken Kamala is, to put more pressure on her until she agrees to the debate on his terms.

Both scenarios end up informing normies about the allegations, and make her look bad.

It's funny how it KEEPS happening too, since Archie bunker in all in the family was also meant to be a 1 diminsion target loathsome dipshit and Michael Stivic was the straight shooter wise man liberal mouthpiece dunking on him constantly without ever a lapse in it. The human "And that's a good thing!" at the end of a headline.

But instead after the first few episodes or pilot they had to course correct as turns out the well meaning stuck in their ways guy having to learn lessons angle was way more engaging and relatable than "haha look at this old awful bigot get fucking schooled by our college educated (STEREOTYPE BREAKING!) polack!"

Best part was the canonical end of Meathead: he cheats on Gloria offscreen with a younger woman and she leaves him, and he's never seen again.

Because they don’t actually want that world. The starship troopers system is, at least IMO, a much better system for running a republic than universal suffrage like we have now.

But universal suffrage is great for having heards of niggercattle vote for gibs to keep the elites in power. They only talk of equality and meritocracy for optics. What they really want is autocracy and despotism by another name.

Nixon was unironically one of our greatest presidents, and Kissinger is the single greatest Sec. of State and one of the most based Jews to ever live (his response to hearing about the USSR persecuting Jews was “who cares, not Americas problem, and intervening would fuck up American interests.”)
But they were republicans, and Nixon really hated commies, so they drove the left insane, and did their damndest to tarnish their reputations. Luckily it seems like, at least on the right, there’s been a critical reexamination of Nixon as of late. And people are waking up to the truth.

Nixon was a moderate and the left has such a hard time recognizing that. Just look back to his presidential debate with JFK their platforms were basically 1:1.

And the grave sin that he did was spying on political enemies, something that was par for the course back then as is now ordinary today. The left has gotten around to recognizing that Watergate was a big nothing burger “But the sin was that he destroyed documents.” Which again a big fucking nothing.

There’s a quote from Hunter S Thompson where he recognizes how he would absolutely love to have Nixon as President compared to Bush & Cheney. He wrote it around the time he committed suicide. I think part of his depression was due to realizing that the Nixon Derangement Syndrome he was so swept up in & helped propagate ultimately amounted to nothing. His Darth Vader/Moby Dick was a smart and reasonable leader and the 1970s could have been so much worse under a lesser politician.
