They weren't faking it. In 2000, the idea that there could be someone from outside the establishment was a million miles away. Bush wasn't supposed to win in 2000, and the fact that he rode the Flyover States (first time I heard that term) to victory did broke the Democrats' brains.
Yeah. It was supposed to be Al Gore keeping the seat warm while Hillary! made herself look sort-of, kind-of electable by carpet bagging in New York in a seat where the DNC HEAVILY encouraged the incumbent to retire (or be "retired"). Al Gore would then have two periods of being president (possibly with Hillary! being VP for the second, or she finishes out the senate term, and then has two years to fundraise/campaign for president) and which point she would be anointed as the President in 2008. Unfortunately Bush was elected. And even worse, Obama came out of nowhere and sniped the 2008 election. This explains why she pretty much had a drunken breakdown (as did the media) when she lost in 2016. It LITERALLY was her turn, dammit. She'd been planning it since her husband was elected in 1992.

Did Moore ever say he expected that or that he totally despised the character? Knowing what little of the man that I do, I know that he wouldn't agree with many of Rorschach's beliefs, but I think he understood enough of how a person could come to be like Rorschach to write the character honestly. As a self-described anarchist, I'd like to think that there's a part of Moore that admires Rorschach, or at least the part of the character that wanted to pursue the truth regardless of laws or consequence. I don't think Moore could have written the character as well as he did if he hated Rorschach as you suggest.

What Alan Moore has said about the character has changed over time. He originally said that he wanted through several of the characters to honestly represent points of view he didn't politically agree with. Part of what he was trying to capture in the character were the objectivist political views of Steve Ditko. Rorschach is derivative of Ditko's "Question" character and "Mr. A". Ditko at the time of Watchman was living as a very moralistic recluse in New York. How Rorschach was living at the time of watchmen was probably a commentary on how he thought Steve Ditko was living.

But over time Alan Moore has gradually become a clown. These days he is almost always "playing" Alan Moore for an audience rather than being a real person. His more recent pronouncements on Rorschach are from a very different Alan Moore than the one that did Watchmen decades ago. Moore today is a very close-minded person in love with his own superiority and his own voice.

Given how he was presented by Moore in Watchmen, he had to at the time have at least a degree of sympathy for the sort of moralism represented by Rorschach. He is by the end of the story the only sympathic character in it. If Moore wanted to hate on the character, there was lots of ways he could have done that it in the story. But he didn't.

Speaking of Hilldog one conspiracy theory I definitely hold onto is that Kamala is being set up for failure because Hillary will be so crushed if she has to see Kamala be “The First Wammin President” and Harris gets to do what Hillary couldn’t in beating Trump.

Like remember how the Obama’s didn’t immediately endorse Kamala but the Clinton’s did? Bill and Hillary definitely still hold sway in the DNC and it’s just suspicious how Biden’s coup happened.

I mean just think what it would be like to be that battleaxe, if Kamala wins Hillary is cemented as the biggest loser of US Politics. If Trump wins Hillary gets to hold onto the cope that the USA is still too damn sexist.

And if the Stock Market goes down further in these coming months, yeah Trump is going to appeal to those white housewives again that he lost in 2020. American women will be strong lefties but the second they see their retirement saving go down they’ll be a lot who will swing back right.

The only little cope that Democrats have is “Oh the economy is doin great. We’re beating the rest of the world. If we’re hit with a bear market what damn success story do they have to delude themselves with???

I saw the headline that Warren Buffet sold all his Apple stock. Feels like we’re heading for a real reckoning. And it’s scary that these words I type don’t feel like schizo rantings.

I think you're both misunderstanding what Trump is doing here. He already did a debate on the Biden's terms, and won obviously. He's not worried about debating Kamala or biased moderators (Fox's moderators would also be biased against him anyway).

This is a strategy to draw attention to her cowardice, the debate is irrelevant. He's putting pressure on her to compromise on his terms for the debate. Her chickening out of the QnA, even though it was hugely hostile to Trump, made her look weak. So now he's capitalizing on that by putting her on the spot.
Yeah, you have nailed it I think. The way I've been describing it to friends is, Kamala is basically shit testing Trump right now. There is no reason why she should assume a debate he agreed to with Biden would transfer over to her, this isn't Applebee's. But with a complicit media behind her she can make Trump look weak, and like she can nag him into doing what she wants.

She probably won't agree to the 4th unless the media starts pointing out how she's skinwalking Biden when the fucker isn't even dead, and Trump definitely needs to debate her (because the greatest threat to her campaign is when she opens her mouth), but I expect he'll do so leaning into his magnanimity like he did with Joe.

I think people have said this before but Rorschach really is an amalgam of The Question, Mr A AND Steve Ditko. That was the impression that many people had of Steve Ditko at the time, he was known to be a reclusive loner just like Rorschach

Alan Moore (2024) would be trying to get Alan Moore (2014) cancelled. He has written some of my favourite stories, but fuck I hate him as a person. I wouldn't piss on the cunt if he was on fire.

I've always been a little confused as to why progressive types wail about Starship Troopers so much. In that world your service transcends any individual personal attribute. A female citizen is superior to and has more privileges than a male non citizen. A black citizen is superior to a white non citizen.

Ability and willingness to serve is significantly more important than race or skin color.

Isn't this largely the kind of world they allegedly claim to want?
It's because leftoids either A: Haven't read the book, B: Do not understand the book, or C: Get butthurt that the book shits all over democracy. The reason they call it fascist is because they are retards who go by Umberto Ecos retarded definition of fascism which is "if it has anything at all even mildly in common with something 10 degrees of separation close to fascism then it's fascist."

The left is incapable of understanding something they don't agree with. The best one is when they claim Heinlein was racist for literally no reason. I haven't read all of his books but every single one I have did not have a white protag. Rico is philipino, Manny is philipino, the guy from Stranger is a fucking Martian. Or when they defend the bugs despite the bugs being literal fucking slave-drivers.

Racism isn't even a bad thing. You should be racist to people who compose far too many detrimental or outright negative behaviors. Fucking Pakis, Indians, and Arabs are not compatible with Western Society in the least. That's never been so clear before now. They don't want to live the way we do. They want to live like they did there but here.
i'm not even white
Not to be that guy, but it was a little clearer at the Gates of Vienna.

I think he was greatly misunderstood then and now. Most of the people who contacted him back then wanted him to (a) talk about his 1960s work for marvel, (b) play the "star artist" for them and (c) go back to mainstream superhero comics work.

Ditko wasn't interested in rehashing work he had done in the 1960s. He also totally rejected the idea of the artist as "personality". He believed that the work should speak for itself and was all that mattered. To mainstream comics fans and even people like Alan Moore, that kind of attitude seemed crazy.

He wasn't some dirty raving lunatic. He was a guy who was totally focused on his work and doing that work without compromise. Money and catering to simping fans didn't interest him.

Cameltoe trying to explain what the cloud is.

That physically hurt to watch. It's like seeing a dumb person overhearing someone talking about the cloud but not getting 100% of the convo so she spews out whatever she can remember while missing out the important bits.

Seeing news outlets covering Kamala’s husbands affair with the nanny.

I’ll never understand rich people who abandon their kids. You’re too fucking wealthy to be evading responsibility like this. You don’t even have to see the kid - just throw money at it and let it have your name.

Between Kamala’s husband and Biden’s son, they have all these abandoned mystery kids.

There are poor and desperate men and women that work their asses off to keep and provide their kids. I guess they must not be sociopathic.

Hollywood types tend to live in a very left leaning bubble. Add that to the weird fucked up world they inhabit, what with the constant sexual abuse, intrigue and backstabbing and you have a person whose reality is so twisted by their life's circumstances that they're barely human and just cannot relate to normal people.

Hence the odd weird takes you get in shit like this. Where the "bad guy" seems to come out the most normal and often the most likeable character. We saw it in the abortion that was the Acolyte, we see it in a tonne of movies and we see it tossed in with characters like Rorschach and Nixon.

Hell Hollywood been simping for the Left since the 80's. Ask yourself how often the bad guy or supposedly nasty character was found out to be a *gasp* Republican, Think of all the Simpson episodes where anything dealing with the Right was cast as evil or stupid. Think of all the TV shows where the nasty boss was a obvious GoP stand in. Park and Rec comes to mind really fast with Ron being the supposed bad guy that the audience ends up loving despite everything the writers try to do.

Entertainment has a big impact on how the average drone views the world and the Left learned this way faster then the Right and took advantage of it. Just like education and other cultural institutions. The Left moved in and used them to shape the mindset and values of the upcoming generation and to this day they are still heavily embedded like bloated, plague ridden tick in higher education and are proceeding to twist and warp the young minds placed in their care. Which explains why the smartest and brightest of America has been sabotage and turned on itself in a orgy of destructive self hate.

Shit won't get better until entertainment and education are freed from the blight of the Far Left and their indoctrination machine.
Guess that explains all those Trump stand ins I saw years ago.

Ain’t much difference between a Jerry springer nigger and some blue blood, just one fell into a more lucky position in life.

Highest IQ people are always middle class. Look at Elon, Jeff and Mark - those niggas be a lolcows if things didn’t shift slighty. I bet Mark and Jeff in another life would be swapping furry porn pics in some defunct forum and arguing if pony’s or Goku is better.
