I am interested to see how they keep trying to justify April's presence in the home to the courts. They can only say "she's a nanny" so much. Why do you need a nanny if one or both parents are stay-at-home?

For the prosecutor touting their record, a deferred adjudication guilty plea is the same as a conviction. That's their objective. If the person completes the terms and it's dismissed and that is also their goal. No one is going back 3 years and saying the guilty plea doesn't count because he completed his probation w/o incident. They'd congratulate the prosecutor for that.

I doubt they'd give Nick an Alford plea. They are rare. Nick already accuses them of various misdeeds and they aren't going to set up a "wrongful prosecution of an innocent man" argument that he's going to spew on the intertubes. I can hear it now: "They gave me an Alford plea because they knew I was innocent." He's going to either plead guilty in open court or be convicted at trial. Also, you can't appeal nonjurisdictional defects (illegal searches and such) on a deferred adjudication or an Alford plea. Only appeals from convictions at trial and conditional pleas (Minnesota's version is named after some case) let you appeal those issues.
