I'm saying the political race isn't as entertaining as it could be because we have to wait for the DNC to play out. The last week has been a bore.
I really don't know what to say to this. The last month has had two decades of political happenings. We're not even close to the baseline.

Temper your expectations I guess. This thread has grown by over 1700 pages since the debate.

Can we take a moment to appreciate how fucking funny this thread is going to be this fall?
Holy shit. If you told me in May what things would look like come August I'd call you a dirty liar.

I was so set for this to be boring as fuck and obvious from four years ago, but the writers have way outdone themselves and I have to give them credit. This shit is 🔥.

Nothing, for me, will ever top 2012's level of boring obviousness but MAN am I glad to have total, utter chaos again.

Makes you wonder if the shit has really hit the fan that the government is unable to wait until Trump wins to declare a recession / depression and pin the blame on him :story:
The power of actual economic forces can not be ignored in a free market economy. They can only ride the wave of a friendly media and a willfully ignorant government for so long.

Sooner or later bills come due and no amount of cooking the books and speculative investment (see: gambling) will stop a market correction (an actual valuation) from happening.

Warren Buffett has a quote, "Only when the tide goes out, do you discover who's been swimming naked."

You may hate the guy, but he's the best in the game.

Nah, Wall Street is pushing the eject button because they know Democrats are an absolute shambles and the incumbent party always loses when the economy falls apart
This is only made easier when you put the same people in charge of propping it up for the past 3 years and they know every load-bearing pillar to hit.

Oh boy, another "once in a lifetime" economic crash! I was too young to really care about 2008, can't wait to actually experience one.
2008 destroyed my life and family but I was too young to really understand why.
The DotCom bubble did a number too, my dad worked for WorldCom at the time when that whole fraud thing webt down. I was young enough that the way he explained it was 'well, a man in charged did a bad thing and lied about it- and thats why I dont have a job anymore'... lol.
Idk, all I can hope for is that if the markets crash maybe I can figure out how to buy a house in the coming months/years. But probably not since my partner just got laid off and I make shit money compared to him.

Damn

I wish I wasn’t retarded and understood how to short stocks, I have a couple grand I could use for that.

You shouldn't because you don't know what you're doing. Even the investors who study they market for a living don't outperform index funds on average.

If you want to make money in the stock market, stick your money in something diversified like an index fund and leave it the fuck alone. Everything else is indistinguishable from idiots in a casino thinking they've got some system.

Vote Trump. Housing will be much more affordable if we throw out ten million illegals. Supply and demand.

Great investment advice, and if it's any less than 20 million deported I'll be disappointed.

Now, they will have to openly interfere to stop the bleeding and slam the interest rates down, recognizing the weak economy in doing so.
You know, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that would be a terrible idea. The markets crashing also isn’t the end of the world. Sure it’ll suck for awhile, but trying to fix this issue by way of Xerox has only been making the problem worse over time.

It’ll suck for a little bit, but the world isn’t going to end if we see another Black Monday. Plus, it’ll pretty much torch the Harris campaign overnight because Biden isn’t going to do shit and everyone is going to notice that.

My condolences if anyone was heavily invested in the tech sector. It looks like you guys are about to get bent over the table.

Me, I invested all of my money in C-quarter futures. I’m betting that the next big thing is going to come up from cwcville.

Agreed. A market correction is the means by which companies sink or swim. Badly run companies (and poor economic policy) need to have a stark slap in the face for the average person to finally feel discomfort with the status quo.
