There's a big difference between a missile attack on a 2nd world country's general and a mercenary team that is operating in a third world country and bombing Russia's largest city. I think Trump has one gear--self-pity--and that one gear reads different now.

These programs were nothing new, though - there have been diversity initiatives in academia and the workplace for at least twenty years; the programs in academia, for instance, also covered disabled people and veterans. I think the programs just became more open about their goals and received more funding after 2020. Trump didn’t encourage it, but he also couldn’t control it, either. It’s useless to blame him for something like that when there are lots of other things he could control that he mismanaged because he literally didn’t know what he was doing and was surrounded by yes men and women.
