The thing is, most if not all professional acting contracts include stipulations on looks. If you get cast as the long haired beauty in some up and coming show, you can’t go out & get a buzz cut. Professional acting contracts have very specific stipulations for each job, in theatre & film. Depending on the job, there will be various clauses about things the actor can & can’t do, including weight, hair, etc. The fact that Ellen’s transition was accommodated is not the norm. It’s very far off from standard practices.

Ellen Page said they were ok with still playing Vanya as a female which means she is not difficult to work with as far as troons go. It was the show writers' decision to turn the character into a lesbian then transition the character to accomodate Page.
Yeah that reeks of a PR statement to try to head off the very obvious and accurate observations that she torpedoed the show mid pre production of the 3rd Season. It was already in pre production, according to multiple inside sources they had to scramble to rewrite and rework it around her Pooning and damaged the production in the process.

She's a decent actress but she'd already been shoehorned into a specific niche due to her physical frame and if she hadn't pooned out, I could see her eventually having to perform child roles a la Shirley Henderson (who is actually an accomplished actress outside of her Moaning Myrtle role) and Page's own performance in Hard Candy. She has utterly, utterly destroyed her body, not just because of the fake abs or the top surgery but also the HRT. Even if she stops taking testosterone, the damage is there. She looks closer and closer to 50 any time a new picture of her gets posted. Only a deepfake AI like what was used for Carrie Fischer in Star Wars after she died would be close enough to "fixing" her visuals, I do not know if AI voices are close enough to emulating believable human speech so they could mimic her vocals, resulting in a computer simulacrum of Ellen that could be pasted onto Elliot in post.
Can she direct actors? Can she write? Is there anything compelling about Ellen Page, much less "Elliot", that could be worth the trouble of dealing with this looney poon?
She's going to Budd Dwyer herself. That or fizzle into obscurity, detransition and make a blazing return by claiming the TQ+ brainwashed her, led her and thousands of others astray and ruined their lives, becoming a role model and figurehead for detrans people.
