While I agree, Trump and Bush both had control of both houses and president once in awhile. There really hasn't been any full supermajorities but in 2009 it was really close that the Dems had it.

It happens, but I can't remember drastic changes suddenly when it does. Republicans have a nasty history of winning a lot and then playing pussies and defense until they lose. It's been bad forever. UK parties and the US ones all say 'we will stop this'. Harris just the other day blamed the GOP for stopping some idiotic bill to do something. The DHS sits there in front of congress and says stuff like 'we stopped more illegals than ever' and ignores that there have been 10x more than ever before in 4 years.

I think it's not quite in the bag yet. I do think, however, that the Harris campaign/lackeys is making a desperate attempt to astroturf enthusiasm that just isn't there. The constant attempt to downplay Trump's rally in Montana was absurd. It was a very respectably sized event, especially when you look at footage that wasn't taken hours before the main gaggle of attendees arrived. Harris has been caught editing shots of her events already, which isn't a great sign considering she has the benefit of doing events in larger metropolitan areas with easy access to her concentrated base.
Trump still needs to get her on the stage and make her trip over herself. His usual insults do not do anything to get protest votes/demoralize potential Harris voters. What killed Biden was not Trump saying "Sleepy Joe" at his events. It was putting him in a light where his own base (and even some known bootlickers) couldn't help but see that the emperor had no clothes. That every "Trumpism" could be backed up with obvious cognitive impairment.
Biden is done. I think he needs to put Kamala in a position where she needs to constantly explain her record, awkwardly try to appeal to black voters (many of which feel she's a culture-skinwalking fraud, with good reason), and explain how she's supposed to be a "change" candidate when she's clearly had the ear of a mentally-unfit president for years.
And honestly, bring up Gaza. Find a way to guide the topic to a point where she needs to downplay the situation. Even if you're pro-Israel, you need to force Kamala into situations where she's dismissive of one of her base's primary concerns. That whole "Don't mention Palestine unless you want Trump to win" bit was poison to her. Make it all younger voters can think about.

Congressmen who do not toe the party line, like the ones who ousted Kevin McCarthy. A slim majority means that it only takes a few members of the party to oppose a bill to lose their majority, thereby, the Republicans are forced to placate such members.

A congressman may take an independent stance for bribes lobbying money or for ideological reasons. It doesn't matter which, the effect is still the same. I'm not saying a GOP majority is a good or bad thing. I'm saying that it will have a big effect on politics for the next couple of years, yet most people are only focusing on the presidential race.
