Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

There was a whole plotline in DS9 going through the entire series where a Federation officer becomes an important religious figure for Bajorans and he starts to embrace the role. It portrays religion in positive or neutral light while also pointing out that religion can be used as a tool to gain political power by bad actors. I think it was done rather tactfully.
Key word-DS9. Not TNG. DS9 was a subversion of the messages that TNG was trying to hammer in. For example, TNG tried to portray capitalism as evil, DS9 had a Ferengi explain capitalism in logical terms.

I surmise that a lot of Star Wars gamers got their boners awakened by Bastila Shan and her tits.

I dont understand how people can see this and be excited.

The only thing it has going for it is that it is Star Wars. However it in no way at all looks like it will appeal or satisfy anything I like about Star Wars or would hope to get out of a new Star Wars production. If anything, I'd probably be more interested if it was just its own sci-fi universe and I'm sure being tied to Star Wars was a lead weight around the neck of the creative process.

Anyone else to a hard cringe at the twinkle chimes?

KK deciding for a Star Wars project to be an 80s Speilberg nostalgia show about a group of 10 year olds girls is seemingly exactly what we'd expect but also too unbelievably retarded to think they actually would.

I will be kind though, I don't think it looks like garbage. It just looks AI scripted, like a million things that have come before but set in Star Wars. Not something made for me.

It's a common joke about all YA material these days being about a young girl who doesn't want her future decided yet who is special and goes on an adventure for some reason. Also how much of this 80s nostalgia stuff are people really into?

No one saw or remembers JJ's film about the kids and the monster set in the 80s. No one even saw Speilbergs film nostalgic on himself. Stranger Things did well but the 80s thing was just the setting, its success went by the first season being decent. I have no idea about the rest because I never watched them. Ghostbuster nostalgia couldn't save a shit film, and then the one that did decently was because it was an apology and closer to what they should have done the first time. It's sequel didn't have much success.

I assume an argument for this show would to create new fans. I don't think they do well with the young folk, but in trying to appeal to non-Star Wars fans and people not drawn to Star Wars. Why would it actually then create new Star Wars fans? It really is more of just trying to turn Star Wars into a girl brand.

Jesus christ, not only they ripped off their own film, they will do others too?

They're paid less than hookers, are botnets, or rely exclusively on being "reply guys". They aren't excited for anything but either subminimal wage or the dopamine from imagining the audience vomiting since it takes away from their own failure. Once that check clears, or the required entergagement met for Parrot Analytics to lie to investors why they shouldn't mass purge the entire Disney board, it will fade away like the farting from that one horrible Disney Wars book.

This is YA slop, and kids, particularly girls, don't give a rotten fuck about Star Wars since it became shit. And since they can't get good actors without DIE logic and have to have fuckzillion incompetent writers headed by a casted director under the orders of a spiteful by the seats incompetent producer to make this trash, it's gonna flop.

Because they work for the Rat. Either paid or hoping to climb up that Disney Influencer Ladder.

TBCF the "young boy" version of this was YA material from like 1940 to 2000.
The difference is no one held it out as some ground-breaking life-altering must-read consoom shit.
Except maybe Enders Game back in the day, before everyone learned the mormon who wrote it has mormon views on things.

the lego fanfic show seems infinitely better
They are at least having fun with it and don't intend for it to be taken seriously. Vs Wienstein Rape Concierge & Roundhead talking about their deep themes and the importance of the message.

The Chad Lego "Lol if you don't like it don't watch it. But maybe you could also just try to relax and have fun?" vs. The lesbian virgin molestee "YOU ARE RACIST AND SEXIST AND A NAZI IF YOU OBJECT TO CURRENT YEAR TALKING POINTS BEING HAMFISTEDLY SLAMMED INTO YOUR ESCAPISM MEDIA, YOU NEED REEDUCATION IF YOU DON'T WATCH AND TELL EVERYONE HOW MUCH YOU LOVE THIS"

Wait they are all girls? I guess I wasnt paying that much attention in the trailer I assumed there was a boy in there somewhere. Welp KK has obviously done her revisions to the script then.

I thought they were all girls, and I watched the trailer a couple of times. It turns out the main one in the trailer with curly back hair is a boy. So too is the alien one.

Strangely enough when looking into this, it filmed in January last year. They've got Phil Tippet back to do stop motion animation and old school physically painted matte paintings. Which just seems like a gimmick neck beards will claim is cool.

The comical part to me is the choice to make "The Resistance" be a faction at all rather than just being a detachment of the New Republic Armed Forces or something like that.

It was that and the mind trick Rey did that took me most out of the movie even the first time I watched it.
The whole post ROTJ disney movie mindfuckery and dividing “canon” with “legends” was just to mess with nerds.

Best to just shitcan the whole thing and get back to actual canon with the EU. Its a big galaxy and the yuppie scum don’t care to write larger settings than their own personal bubble.

When's Rogue Squadron coming out? They never officially cancelled it so it has to be coming at some point, right?

If it ever did it won't at all resemble the announced film.

It was a stupid idea to double down on the sequel timeline. If we ever get one it'll be set during the original films but then I am forgetting who is in charge and we'll probably get Rey suddenly being the best pilot in the galaxy leading X-Wings against the New Order where Vader has somehow returned and she out pilots him.
