What websites are considered suitable alternatives to 4chan boards? There's still small hidden boards on similar topics and a list of them would be helpful

I say this because whenever Jewtube recommends me a heckin nostalgic 2000s 4chan video, the comment section includes supposed oldfags who complain about how /pol/ and politics ruined 4chan, and I don’t really get it because I thought that it was the jannies and Moot cucking at the end of his reign that killed 4chan.

Edit: I just remembered that I’ve also seen people say something to the effect of “/pol/ was le hecking satire before stupid fucking chuds ruined it and made the racism unironic” a few times. Is this true?

All i remember from the time shortly before i left entirely, which was somewhere between mid-2014 and late 2014, was that the tone in formerly extremely chill threads on /tg/ shifted radically, people began to shit on others in WIP for instance. Never got the appeal of quest threads so i never read them or any of the CYOA bullshit. /cofdgenerals/ and /40kgenerals/ where my shit, plus /WIP/, posted a lot in these. I wasn't around when /new/ was a thing but i was a /pol/ regular and the quality of threads declined steeply in that timeframe too from what i remember.
I was only speculating about if the closing of the_donald was the catalyst of me leaving in my previous post, i have no idea what the exact date of its closure was, having never been on reddit until much later. I stayed on LCF for a couple of years to get my image board fix after i left 4chan.
