Are we back?
Indeed we are, sir.
I am curious how this will actually shake out. Iirc, Gehenna stated that a large portion of his base consisted of NeverTrumpers who couldn't stand to vote for Kamala. Will they hold their nose and vote for Kamala, sit out and not vote, write-in RFK, or what?
I think that the play here is that RFK does not want to draw any votes away from Trump in key battleground states and some of his supporters might swing for Trump with the endorsement. In non-battleground states where RFK is still on the ballot, his supporters might vote for RFK just as a general "fuck you," but either way it wastes paper and ink.

Well earlier in the thread, CNN roasting RFK for his horrific voice damage (when it wasn't even bad,) was some pretty spicy salt. I'd say them, MSNBC, C-Span, and others cutting off his speech before it finished is some good salt.

Let's harvest some more, gang. The mines have been opened.
I was really disappointed in CSPAN when that happened. Journos, man.

I'm fucking shocked that the DNC ended on Thursday and not Friday. It was begging for Trump to steal the thunder.

My theory is that the DNC is truly run by corporate hags who figured it's better to have a company party on Thursday so people don't drink too much.
Tbf the RNC ended on a Thursday as well iirc

Party conventions being a Monday-Thursday affair has been the norm for a while now, the RNC did the same thing last month and I'm pretty sure both parties have stuck with that at least since the 90's.

Part of me thinks that the Harris Campaign offered RFK Jr. a cabinet position first (based on the "reports" we saw floating around last week), and RFK Jr. turned them down flat. That would totally explain the catty comments made publicly by a Harris Campaign spokesperson earlier this week.

In the press conference RFK Jr. said his clean eating friends hooked him up w/ Trump shortly after the assassination attempt

He also mentioned he called Kamala's people several times after and they wouldn't give him time of day

When the mentally enslaved base has a choice of leftist Democratic flavors, Kamala polls badly. When they are informed they may only choose one flavor, they approve of that flavor, just as they've been trained to do.

Some people aren't taking "Vote Blue No Matter Who" seriously enough. It's not just an empty slogan, it's a distilled, memetic instruction set that changes how they think. Once they accept the need for power, and the need for collective action to achieve collective power, everything else is justification. And since leftist politics is inherently emotional, that political justification must become emotional justification.

This is a long way of saying they convince themselves to like whoever the designated leader is. That sounds like it's indicating 1984 levels of brainwashing... and it is. That's where they are. If you don't believe me, go look at all the garbage vibes stuff coming out of the DNC the last few days. They put Walz up on the "hotties wall", for fuck's sake.

I posted this the other day but I think it's worth posting again. NPCs will be NPCs and it's scary the extent to which they can so easily be programmed. (Whether you like Candace Owens or not is irrelevant, she has nothing to do with the video besides saying the words.)

Ah. Well, it isn't the first time I've been retarded and it shall not be the last!

Trump is a stand-up comedian. That's why people like him: he knows how to work a room and he's funny. More importantly, he is not a safe comedian who does the little dance that the power elites want him to do - like a Hannah Gadsby type. Like any stand-up worth his or her salt, he is willing to slay the sacrificial cows and take risks. People forget a YUUUUGE reason why Trump was popular in 2016 was because he railed against political correctness. People are sick of this shit and, ultimately, it's what brings every one of us to this website.
I lost faith in him after his 2020 campaign was unsuccessful. I guess you could say Trump's 2024 campaign is the political equivalent of a comedian's comeback special. Simply put the man's won me back over.
It's not even that. Independent of the fact that he makes the people I detest lose their minds, something about him is just so interesting to listen to. His mannerisms, cadence, etc. Hell, he's orange and has a funny sounding voice. All those things just kind of mix together and make him amusing to listen to.
Trump's not only funny, he's smarter and more coherent than the news media led me to believe as well. Also the man has great stage presence. Once he gets going he has my undivided attention.

I'm behind in the thread but I tuned into the Trump rally on a whim and he's electric again. It's great to see him so high-energy after the last couple weeks of him being kind of subdued.
Are we back?
A combination of DNC ending, which gave Trump some new material to riff on, and the RFK endorsement gave him a little energy boost.

I feel like he's a little more measured in his antics compared to 2016.

Remember how Trump toyed with the idea of running for president for decades but was never serious about it until Obama repeatedly mocked him that he would never be president?

Obama shitting on Trump = blowback runs wild

Keep mocking Trump, Obama. It only makes him more powerful!

I feel like if Trump never got involved in real estate he would have been a huge hit in the 80's as a comedian alongside Kinison and Dice. Dude is a natural entertainer and comedian.

And I got a good belly laugh out of this brazenly racist and hateful tweet from some random loser:
It's almost fascinating how at the drop of a hat, out comes the racism, everything they claim to hate and stand against just vanishes. 2024 has been the most mask-off year ever. They aren't really trying anymore and as the final date approaches, it only gets more intense.

Pork is not as disgusting as bacon is delicious.
But I heard that human flesh taste the same as pork, and to me that's kinda fucked and weird, so that's why I try to avoid non-bacon pork, whenever possible.
Also I was in a farm once and saw how they kill pigs the traditional way, when I was about 6. So I also have a soft spot for them. Not as soft as the fat on that bacon, though.

I can believe that actually. Have you ever noticed that sometimes when it's really hot you start smelling like pork? Or is that just me?

To be fair to you and everyone else: 2020 was Trump's to lose and he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. I, and many others, believe that Trump would have won 2020 if he had just shut the fuck up.

I also believe that Trump would not be politically relevant today if TPTB ignored Trump after 2020 and let him do the equivalent of riding off into the sunset bitching and moaning about electoral fraud. Instead, they made him extremely relevant by prosecuting him and everyone around him. If people in third-world shitholes don't like it when the dominant party uses levers of power to punish their political opponents, what in the name of Carl Chryniszzswics made these idiots think that Americans would like it?

My theory is that Trump never wanted to be a real estate mogul, but got pushed into it because of Fred's alcoholism. I think he wanted to be in Hollywood.

Re: RFK Jr.
As convenient as it would be now, I've never bought the idea that RFK hurt Trump more than Harris; in fact, I'd say the opposite because Trump's base is more committed while Kamala's more nebulous and thus easier to peel off. I never really paid attention to him, but a cursory glance gives me the impression that he had a lot more to do with the Dems than MAGA. What's the X factor I'm missing, or am I correct in my assessment?
