It’s just a means of going “here’s why I am reviewing this particular movie.” It’s not that complicated.
For those that didn’t watch it, Doug starts the video explaining that the fatigue/brain fog issues is getting better. He still got it this week but the time between when it hits is getting longer and longer.
It's because his disgruntled ex-employees tried to ruin his life.
Most of what gets posted here in recent years are talking about his recent videos or news. Every so often, one of his a-logs will come in and shit up the thread for 10 pages about how Doug is an evil mastermind and that he stole money meant for Demo Reel (there's no proof other than Demo Reel looks like shit so he must've pocketed it)....something which he did well over a decade ago
It was mostly the game show that got those accusations, but yeah, Doug’s non NC activity has been bomb after bomb.
And because some people refuse to let things die and Doug refuses to close up shop. And because some think Doug is on par with those that get featured on the regular just because he has a thread here.

A bugs life is one of those movies that I saw a lot when I was a kid but I never remember anything about it.
My mistake. I thought Demo Reel WAS the name of the game show.
I mostly remember the game, the different VHS/DVD covers and the polly pocket type toys. The Hopper death scene is what I remember the most about this movie
One of the weird things that happens with Doug is that I am shocked to see him doing a review of a movie because I thought he already had to have done it by now.
I remember when I visited Animal Kingdom years ago they had an educational 3D show based around A Bugs Life where they taught you about the importance of bugs in our world. Something I didn't know until I looked it up for this post is that it actually began operation before the film was even in theaters.
Maybe due to the fallout with DreamWorks over Antz, it probably left a bad taste in Pixar's mouth
That has often been attributed to it. That and getting released in-between Toy Story films, being the second Pixar film releases so sort of being setup for a "sophomore slump" given its spot, and just also the story probably being more hard to follow up with compared to those other Pixar films.
Or like a lot of things he's surface level at best. I don't think anybody has ever suggested that Doug is some kind of genius when it comes to film.
Depends as I could see it not continuing for two reasons.
Honestly, I'd say where he does show some excels is stuff when it comes to animation. But, I think that stems from that he said how he has a huge love for it, so I can see him havin' looked more into that stuff.
