Best episode of the year easily, though that's not saying much sadly. Funny to think games like that would be on the NES, even with the censorship. The "body shaming" moment was cringe but not as prevalent as I thought it'd be from thread reactions. Just feels wrong for the Nerd to word it like that.

The reason why they make fun of it is because he's retained the same look for the AVGN throughout its lifetime--except he hasn't. The older glasses suited him far better, and those thick frames make him look like Junior Soprano. He looks like an old man trying to look young, and he's only in his 40s

Two people rated me autistic for saying his wife's insanity was rubbing off on James. Fucking look at these photos and tell me you don't already know it's coming directly from her. The woman who coined the "Caucasian sausage fest" line. It's not some great mystery how James who never once in 20 years used the term "body shaming" just randomly dropped it in a video.

Is that last one a Truther meme? IMHO April was always a bit of a toad even before they married but Erin is HAWT.

The Deja Vu episode was pretty decent. The haw haw poo poo stuff was as retarded as ever and "muh fat shaming" was equally retarded but the noir theme was cool. I'm glad he didn't lean hard into the Angry aspect of the Nerd character too much this time because Deja Vu actually isn't a bad game. I would rate it between Shadowgate and Uninvited (with Shadowgate being the best).

It is painfully obvious that James never played text adventures. Take->Open->Remove->Use was a pretty standard chain of commands back in the text adventure era and Icom games were text adventures with graphics, much like the early Sierra games, hence the more verbose and often funny responses.

I might be retarded, but I'm explicitly remembering that he's name dropped Zork on several occasions, or at least reference it, which makes this really weird.

As an aside, it's really surprising he never did leisure suit Larry, there's plenty of jokes he could make, especially with the quiz.
