They are ACKing themselves in game.

You cannot make this shit up. EVERYTHING about this game has been a shitshow.
LMFAO

I'm guessing putting Black women on game covers is unattractive because Black women aren't the audience?

Look at where we are and repeat that with a straight face
200 million is not a crazy amount of money to spend developing a game.*

*That is to say that some AAA games easily reach and surpass that nowadays.
Cyberpunk was $277.
Last of us 2 was $220.
Horizon Forbidden West was $212.
And those are just the ones we can verify. Ubislop garbage almost certainly hits those amounts given they have 300+ people working on the goddamn games. Also keep in mind that's not counting marketing. People in this thread are also forgetting or don't realize one important thing.

Concord didn't cost 200 million.

It had to cost well in excess of $250 million given the 8 years in development. That's to say nothing of marketing and the cost of that stupid animated thing they made. These niggers burned almost certainly $500 million plus.

I can't believe the absolute failure of the art direction. This is what happens when you give straight up college libtards a ridiculous amount of money to do whatever they want. The formula isn't so hard:

- Male characters that are cool, funny, relatable, and/or strong.
- Female characters that are sexy, cute, with unique fashion designs so thots can cosplay them, and/or cool in a feminine way.

If you need to have a fat chick in it have her be a villain or something.

Who am I kidding though, none of the people involved in the art direction side of this ever had anything but a privileged life, to them ugliness is a novelty.

The one retard who got a platinum on it.

No lie, I would do the same thing if I had that level of dedication. If the game is closing soon, I want to get my worth as much as possible. Of course, I would have the foresight to see if the game would be worthwhile enough to buy.

Dunking on even the gayest most forced piece of slop isn't fun unless there's someone to ardently defend it. I initially expected everyone to collectively dismiss it as bland trash. Even now, there's no conversation about the actual faults or merits of the gameplay experience, as no one, not even its defenders has played it. At this point, I'm more curious than anything about why such a barebones and feature deficient game took eight years to release but that's a question that won't be getting answered anytime soon.
We can only speculated especially since the industry has changed in like 8 years. Publishers just wanted it out the door and devs were tired but the issue is this game seemed like it was at least 3 or 4 years in development and not 8 because there's nothing interesting or even shows that all the time was needed to make this. I don't even recall the game every getting announced and i doubt people would care 8 years later where there's already enough hero shooters we didn't need more at all.

I can see the reasoning as to why the players are doing it. Just the fact that it is being reported on like we are in the final hours of a cult suicide pact. We don't have to make edits or mocking screenshots. The journoscum are unwillingly making funny meme's without meaning too. Do nothing and win, seems to be the tag line for this train wreak of an event.

BTW just a day before SHTF concord AI pr0n started showing up. Bet it wouldn't been such a disaster with this level of booba in the actual game:

So was this coomers being coomers? or a last ditch effort from a dev like when that shithead pitchford commissioned battleborn r34?

If everybody in the industry knows overwatch is only still relevant because of the coombait then why they make all their female characters so fucking ugly? like unrealistically ugly, uglier than the average bri'ish woman.
Battleborn wasn't that bad, the character designs were pretty normal by 2016 since the game was riding off the (somewhat declining) Borderlands hype train especially after 2. While the Borderlands franchise always had shit millenial writing and was basically patient zero behind it infesting literally every game ever, you can't deny that Borderlands 1 to maybe Pre-Sequel did have some genuinely great character designs who are iconic.

I remembered the tagline for Battleborn was "For Every Kind of Badass" since 'badass' was a marketing term always associated with Borderlands when it came to Gearbox projects. It was clear Battleborn was supposed to at least share a similar design philosophy. See here below:

It did feature a lot of weird aliens, robots, and subhumans- I mean "POC" but they were all stylized in a cartoony style not unlike Borderlands. None were really that ugly, just like the tagline... They did at least look kind of badass. Plus there was still at least tons of conventionally attractive and cool looking characters for normal people to enjoy. Which in my opinion, would be kind've cool to see in a better game. You have a cast of normal looking characters 70% of the population can enjoy and main, and then 30% can be gross looking subhuman freaks who are designated for subhumans. Now that's true equality!

Hell even in this screenshot a female character showing this much skin in a Western game today would be unheard of.

It just got manhandled by Overwatch's launch despite the fact there's very little in common between the two. Overwatch is like an actual team based FPS while Battleborn was really just a first-person MOBA. It was really an issue of Overwatch existing + it's generally shit gameplay because why the fuck would people play first person MOBAs? Battleborn could literally have characters designed by Yoji Shinkawa (who I'd say is the GOAT) and it would still flop because the gameplay was shit... Kind've like Left Alive.

A game made by trannies dies very soon after launch, where its remaining playerbase suicides themselves for maximum level. That's actually meta.

As long as they included those two things you mentioned the morons still could have had their fat retards, gay robots and trannys. Sure people would make fun of those ugly characters but you would still have normal people logging on to the game to play Rex Commando or Tanya Titty (copyright me). It's the outright refusal to include things their core demographic would like that fucked them up so bad. Funnier still is that they refuse to include those things because they absolutely despise their core demographic, which is straight white dudes that like to play video games.

Just my 2 cents on some posts I read here (I'm too lazy to reply individually)

Concord isn't coming back as f2p, it's fucking dead-dead. Their announcement makes it sound like it will come back in some form, but what exactly?

The only positive things I read about the game was in the initial announcement. It looked interesting until they said it was another hero shooter. The only other positive thing I read was that the gameplay is solid albeit slow.

There is nothing to salvage that would turn this game into something else. The characters and maps are just generic and uninspired. The gameplay is nothing special. Sony should have just fucking stopped after the open free beta.

Also here's Concord compared to Killzone 2, a ps3 game.
Just to show how much of a downgrade it is.

Ugh the Concord levels look about as uninteresting as the characters. Also destructibility is cool and those animations are nice but that fucking piss & shit filter.

It actually makes me wonder how much of this neon (or in Concords case pastel) bullshit is a reaction to the piss filter. In any even we have ray tracing now, the piss filter is dead and concord looks like what you would find in the yard after the dog got into an easter basket.

I don't see anything wrong with diverse designs, women that aren't perfect little Barbies or ordinary-looking people in video games. The main problem with the characters in Concord though is that the characters feel very token and unappealing when it comes to the costumes and hairstyles. Sony wanted to tick every box in their DEI list and focused more on that rather than the gameplay and appealing character designs.
