Okay so instead of killing random school people, he should have committed matricide? Maybe patricide too?
Maybe he should have hanged himself and became another statistic? Ending his life because that's so much better right?
I genuinely find the lack of compassion here revolting, like not even basic human decency. Just seething animal brutality.
You are reforming the argument to fit your narrative and I find it astonishing. That whole bit about how he'd be dead by 30 working a minimum-wage job, my god. This smacks of someone blaming all their failings on something particular.
No one should be forced to that point. We can understand why a person does something without it "being okay." This is very basic, something most psychologically well-adjusted people learn early on. If he had killed his mother for treating him so poorly, yes, people would have had sympathy for his actions. People cannot have sympathy for him killing two mentally retarded classmates and two teachers, for shooting nine other people, for leaving a trail of broken people behind him. Should he have had help? Yes. But that doesn't mean he gets a pass for what he's done. Does that mean he has to die? No. But he does have to pay for what he's done. That isn't sadism, no matter what the hamster running in your brain is telling you right now. There has to be consequences for such a monumental action on the part of a person, regardless of their age. He killed four people and hurt nine people. He ruined 13 lives directly, countless lives indirectly. It has to be atoned for. That is not sadism. That is justice. His mother should also be held to account for her crimes.
But you seem to have no compassion for his victims, and I find
THAT revolting. His victims were also children; they were people just going about their day. They didn't do shit to him. They were there to fucking learn. One of them was literally so retarded he didn't know to staunch the bleeding. What could that kid have possibly done to earn that?
As I stated, we can have compassion for someone, but that doesn't make their actions okay. You are trying to justify his actions, and you are trying to offload his actions. Oh, he was a little white boy in Georgia, his mother was a meth addict, what other choice did he have? Ask all the other poor white trash with meth-addict mothers what they did. They didn't do that. Your logic is faulty; you are in your feelings, and now your arm digs deeper into your bag of pink Doritos.
