I always wondered what people considered a slide thread because I never saw one. If your definition is what everyone else is using then no wonder 4chan is fucked. A guy says "I like GMs, what other series have GM like mecha?" and you call it a slide thread.
Actually checking
the thread you brought up, anons specified what actually makes it a slide thread. The images are taken from another thread on the board that the spammer was posting their spam in, which was on page 10. The spammer then makes the new thread within minutes, with the image from the other thread, to push the other spammed thread off page 10 and into the archive, where it's probably less likely to be actioned by lazy ass tranny jannies or mods because it's already off the board. The new thread has the veneer of being a "real thread," but it's just spam. Spam to hide other spam in other threads, now hidden further in the archive. If the thread does somehow get moderator attention and get banned, you'll always hilariously find this spammer screeching in ghost posts on desuarchive about "
HOW COULD THE MODS DO THIS TO A TOTALLY REAL THREAD I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT OP (WHO ISNT ME BTW) DID WRONG", which is pretty big retarded tell that they are intentionally trying to couch the spam as being legit threads to hope mods are too clueless or permissive to do anything. If it doesn't get pruned, it just falls off the board with 5 or less replies cause it's hollow as fuck. There's a reason a lot of dedicated image spam/porn boards have an unwritten rule about OP having to "post three" before anybody else will contribute anything.
EDIT: I should note this is somewhat different than a "slide thread" as normally described, especially on places like /pol/. A /pol/tard would use it to describe bait thread meant to distract and demoralize the board's user base from using other informative, useful or fun threads, and to "slide"
active threads off the board in an avalanche of trash. This is still "sliding" other threads off the board on purpose with low effort trash, but it's being done to
inactive threads to hide one samefag's posts that they know are against the site's rules, because they have been banned for doing it before, hence why they now have to spam in the deadest of threads, usually general threads past bump limit that cannot be brought back to the top of the board where they risk getting nailed.
In an anti-virus like reaction to all this shit, other anons have started counter spam-posting on-topic images until image limit in threads at the bump limit to prevent this tard's off-topic spam.
Here, the spammer is seething about just that in the thread they took the GM image from originally.
I'm sure the board still likes GMs fine, just seem heaps mad at this spammer, but even more so at the shitty mods. It's a trend I've noticed sitewide that mods are more likely lately to take the time to remove posts from an obvious spam thread, rather than delete the entire spam thread, and that's fucking baffling, since -not only must that be more time consuming- it's just going to fill up again with more people angry about spam, and
even angrier now because now the jannies look like they are actively defending spammers/viral advertisers (which they probably are).
