Also who exactly is the AI even stealing from in this example? It's a well known anime character, in a pretty universal anime style - and it's not like there was already a picture of her in this pose and dress, drawn by some artist.

As for the cartoon, I liked it, but I too agree, it works way better as an allegory for automation in general, than just AI and art.

There's already services available in ai-focused sites (Civitai, etc.) where they'll train a lora for you out of the images you've provided yourself. Also there's a lot of people making LORAs of what's on their mind and you can get yourself a lora of your waifu if you ask them nice enough. And then there's the Bounty system where you give a prize for making a lora or anything else and the first person to make the lora you want will get the prize.

I feel like AI can do poses and angles better than many artists.

Just comparing the redrawn version to the original AI, the human version feels stiffer and less dynamic than the AI version.
