Shohei Ohtani is currently at 47 homers and 48 steals. As I had suspected, he wasn't able to hit any homers against Atlanta in their house.

There are 12 games to go against the Marlins (away), Rockies (home), Padres (home), Rockies (away). He'll need to average 1 homer every 4 games and 1 steal every 6 games to reach the legendary stat line. Here's a modified look at the 4 series, now taking into account the ranking of how many homers each pitching group has given up:

Miami Marlins (3 games in Miami) = 4.70 ERA (28th) and 176 homers given up (11th). Park HR Factor = 0.95 (22nd)

Colorado Rockies (3 games in LA) = 5.40 ERA (30th) and 198 homers given up (30th). Park HR Factor = 1.11 (3rd)

San Diego Padres (3 games in LA) = 3.92 (14th) and 160 homers given up (21st). Park HR Factor = 1.11 (3rd)

Colorado Rockies (3 games in Colorado) = 5.40 ERA (30th) and 198 homers given up (30th). Park HR Factor = 1.14 (2nd)

A few observations would be: all 3 teams have actually improved their ERA stats by a few basis points over the last several days. Miami is surprising in that they give up a lot of runs, but they actually don't give up many homers (I suppose somewhat aided by their ballpark). The Padres are middle of the pack insofar as ERA is concerned, however they're actually good at not giving up many homers.

Getting the last 2 steals shouldn't be hard theoretically. I notice that pitchers are attempting more pickoffs and catchers seem to be more "on edge" during Mookie's at bats to try and catch a steal attempt at second base. Again, definitely very do-able and I would be surprised if he doesn't get to 50 steals.

When it comes to homers, Ohtani's on a 4 game streak of no homers so he's definitely due. While I had originally predicted a homer against the Marlins, given a closer look at their pitching performance as it relates to giving up homers, I'm not so sure anymore.

This puts some real pressure on him to get the last 3 homers during the home stretch in LA against the Padres and the Rockies. I say this especially because it wouldn't be great for him to have to go into the very final stretch of 3 games in Colorado searching for that remaining homer (assuming that he's at 49 at that point).

Nothing in Baseball is a given and I haven't even considered the possibility of faggotry by way of repeatedly walking him as teams may be wont to do.

They needed to win 3 for there to be a chance of clinching the record at Guaranteed Rate. They aren't beating San Diego, so they had to steal some wins from Oakland and Anaheim.

Shohei Ohtani keeps doing things that are unfathomable.

Dodgers are up 9-3 vs. the Marlins at the bottom of the 6th.

So far, he's gone 4-4 with 1 towering blast of a homer, 2 stolen bases and 5 RBIs. He had a shot at the Cycle had he not gotten thrown out attempting a triple.

2 homers in 3 games at what is known as a pitcher's ballpark is truly out of this world.

He's now well ahead of the projection that I made (so happy to be wrong on this one) and is now at 49 hone runs and 51 steals.

50-50 seems like a foregone conclusion now with 9 games to go, but once again, nothing in this sport is a given until it happens.

I take comfort in knowing that with 9 more games left in the season, even if teams want to try to repeatedly walk him, they can't possibly keep doing it at every single at-bat.

EDIT: WHAT THE FUCK DO I KNOW ? HE JUST HIT HIS 50TH HOME RUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's the greatest ball player to ever live !!!!

FUCK TRANNIES. FUCK FAGGOTS. FUCK NIGGERS. FUCK KIKES.

PRAISE JESUS AND GLORY TO GOD !

Edit: He just hit a 440 footer for his 51st home run baby ! 6-6 with 10 RBIs and 3 homers today !

But godDANM can that nip hit a baseball. Do you think he's gonna be bigger than Ichiro was/is in Japan?

He's certainly this generation's Ichiro. I feel the same way about Ohtani as I did about Ichiro. No matter how much you hate him, you can't help but respect him for the dedication he has for the game to constantly be a top dude.

Ichiro is what really pisses me off about the inclusion of the nigger league baseball stats. If we follow that line of thinking why not include Japanese pro numbers? Why? Because then Ichiro becomes the all time hit leader. Now I think Pete Rose deserves to be in the HOF but I know that kike Manfred hates him, so what better way to push him out of the limelight by taking away the one number he has that can't be touched?

The Japanese pro numbers are also real and much more valid than some niggers playing exhibitions in cornfields.

Speaking of Ohtani, he's fallen off of a cliff in the last several weeks. Nowhere near any of the leaderboards for many stats now. I know that he's dealing with a hamstring issue but pitchers and opposing teams seem to have figured out a thing or 2 about how to attack him.

It's up to him to figure it out with the coaching staff and make some adjustments. He seems to be swinging on a lot of inside and low pitches (at least to my novice eyes).
Takes that have aged poorly, I genuinely think he's going to hit the 55/55 club

Dodgers still don't win the world series.

They don't have the starting pitchers that you have to have in order to win it all. I don't believe that you can simply hit your way to a World Series and history also seems to favor teams with strong starting pitchers being able to wipe out the other side.

Given how popular Baseball is in Japan, it's hard to imagine another athlete in any era who would be more popular than Shohei Ohtani. He combines generational physical talent with a Tom Brady-esque obsession to get better every day. It's like God designed him for this and is smiling at His latest masterpiece.

Agreed 100%. Nigger league stats are complete fucking memes and you know that the literal faggots and trannies who have no doubt been tasked with "verifying" nigger league stats are straight up making shit up. You want me to believe that illiterate niggers actually kept accurate stats of their meme tier games that were played in literal corn fields and shit ? Fuck out of here.

I don't mind being wrong at all. I'm a huge fan and his struggles at the time are a matter of fact. As I also pointed out, he and the coaching staff were able to make the necessary adjustments which is why he's back to being the most feared offensive force in the league.

Ohtani just hit his 52nd homer and stole his 52nd base as the Dodgers beat the Rockies.

He's now only 1 homer away from Judge. This was his 14th game during this season with both a homer and a steal, which means that he's broken Rickey Henderson's old record of 13 such games in a season.

If you truly look at the body of Ohtani's work and the circumstances under which his achievements have been made, it's difficult to argue against the notion that he's the MVP in either league.

The Dodgers have had horrific amounts of injuries to their pitchers and the replacements have been dog shit for the most part. Key players like Betts, Freeman and Muncy have all been injured for long stretches. The bottom of the order has been absolutely terrible at getting on base...

...and yet by some miracle, Ohtani has not only all of these homers but also 120 RBIs. Judge plays in a ballpark that is absolutely known to favor homerun hitters, whereas the Dodgers' ballpark is a pitcher's park. Judge hits behind Soto, who himself is a MVP candidate and has one of the highest OBP in the game. The Yankees are the 6th best pitching team by way of team ERA. The Dodgers are somehow the 14th.

I actually think that Witt is more valuable than Judge, due to his defense being elite and his all-round game. Oh and Ohtani now has 52 steals vs. only 4 times caught stealing, which is one of the highest success rates in history. The Dodgers have 92 wins vs. 90 for the Yankees, even though the circumstances for the Dodgers have been much harder.

As I've said before, it will take a long, long time for Ohtani's achievements this year to truly sink in.

I think the best indicator of his absolute dominance right is that no player until Shotime went 6 for 6 hit 3 homers stole 2 bases and had 10 RBIs in combination of all their games until Shotime did it in a SINGLE game dude is literally playing on another level rn.

Also, if they include NPB stats, then there’s a new home run king. His name is Oh Sadaharu. He has 868 home runs. If MLB includes NPB stats, then there’s no one currently that can pass him (maybe Ohtani, but time will tell if that’s possible.)

Let me just say that there are few things that I hate more than batters grounding into double and triple plays. Fuck that shit.

Dodgers actually somehow manage to put 2 on with 0 outs, bringing up Rojas (the number 9 batter).

He actually goes for a bunt during the first pitch, which everyone and their dog knows is the right thing to do. You're the number 9 fucking batter for a reason. You're supposed to either pray for a walk or sacrifice bunt to advance runners and give Ohtani and Betts a chance to pull of a miracle.

But no, Dave Roberts the braindead half nigger just has to put down the bunt sign and allow a number 9 hitter to try to play hero. This results in a triple play, ending the game.

It basically shows how Roberts is a fucking idiot and will always lose situational battles against teams that are properly trained to execute in these high leverage situations.

Roberts actually trying to justify the decision to let Rojas swing for the fences shows what an absolute imbecile he is.
