Mega Rad Gun Thread

Well I was finally able to order the mounting plate so I can get my Trijicon RCR mounted to my Staccato P. It arrived today, though not before I had to leave for work. So that will be my project when I get home tonight. Can't wait to take it to the range and zero it. Going to take my oldest son with and take a few other guns with. I'll also be taking the FK Brno with to get the RMR mounted to it zeroed as well.

Thoughts on the .38 Special, gunbros? Dont know much about guns, but I have a buddy that wants to sell one. Would give it to me for 150 bucks, he says.
.38 special has put a lot of dicks in the dirt long before any of us were born, and will continue to do so long after all of us are dead.
But what gun the .38 comes out of is what matters.

What's the make and model?

Fuckin' neat. I've been looking at mounting options for the Jericho. I don't want it milled, there are a few companies that make, like, a dovetail combo rear iron with either a plate or pic for mounting. I haven't seen many reviews, but I guess if you can get a competent smith to really get that dovetail secure in there and maybe a small tap to run a mounting point, you wouldn't have issues with it going off zero.

Staccato worked with Dawson Precision to come up with a pretty neat mounting solution. The mount is machined into the slide as standard and has a cover with the rear sight mounted to it that is secured by a hex bolt. You just unscrew the bolt and the rear sight and cover come off, then you replace it with the plate that corresponds with the model red dot you wish to mount, which includes a new rear iron sight. There are two hex bolts that attach the plate to the slide, and a third that goes through the rear sight that screws in to where the original hex bolt was. There are also pins on the underside of the plate that slot into two holes on top of the slide and a shallow, wider peg that slots into a shallow groove machined into the top of the slide. It's pretty trick and very secure.

And now that I have the RCR mounted, here are some pics for everyone. I'm very much looking forward to getting it zeroed and running it through it's paces.

Runs better than the heart of a vaxcattle nigger, that's for sure!

I've been seeing a sudden wave of hate against Aero Precision, referring to them as a sub-PSA budget brand. I've seen a lot of evidence that their production from 2020-2022 had cratered for whatever reason, with complete builds totally falling apart or malfunctioning right out of the box. I assume this was a result of trying to ramp up production by cutting QC during the panic buying years. Has anyone had negative experiences with Aero? I've used parts from them but never complete uppers.

Do you want an HK P7, have the cash for an HK P7 but don't want to have to deal with any potential problems that buying a pistol that has been out of serial production for going on 20 years? Well are you in luck because a guy in Texas is making new production P7's including classic and modernized versions
Always wanted a P7 but refuse to buy a pistol you can't attach a light and optic to? Oh boy your dreams have come true

I swear someone in this thread (possibly myself) made a post about this thing getting SAAMI Spec'd like a year ago but I can't find and quote it so whatever. Winchester has a new* cartridge, the .21 Sharp, same .22lr case, non heeled bullet with FMJ, plated and solid copper Options. 15-25cpr (assuming it doesn't die on the vine I could see it getting down to 10-20cpr), requires a new barrel. Designed around hunting in states with bans on lead ammunition (will become increasingly common). Slightly higher velocities than stock .22lr

If anything, I think this cartridge has a significantly higher chance of surviving more than a few years due to it using standard .22lr cases. Not only does that mean a huge R&D Cost saving but a huge saving in manufacturing. All they had to shell out for was load development and projectile manufacturing. Will it in say, 50 years replace .22lr, I can't speak to that but it isn't out of the realm of possibility.

*Is it really a new cartridge if you keep the case and change the bullet a little bit?

Years ago I saw a picture of the baffle stack of this thing and it was so bad, 3 washers and a bunch of rolled up mesh. Someone (Zenitco, Hexagon, Sureshot) ANYONE, needs to buy a chinese DMLS and print up some next gen suppressors for Val/VSS/SR3/9A-91/VSK-94/VKS etc in both Inconel and Titanium, make them smaller, lighter and better performing and posting 4k pics on easily accessible western social media. It would be so kino.

"AimLock" Chassis. Essentially you slap an M4 into a Chassis with a bunch of computer actuated servomotors that do micro adjustments to your point of aim by moving the rifle itself while you look through an electro-optical sight. Never really took off

Recently there was a video released from Task & Purpose about the supposed glowing reviews of the XM7 from the troops issued it.

Well one of the persons quoted in the article took to the US Army Subreddit to reveal that Task & Purpose cut all of the negative things he had to say about the system entirely and has listed them in his post as well.

Well duh, Task and Purpose is a joke outlet full of military failsons/fail daughters who got to retire into a cushy vetbro influencer lifestyle

No shit they're gargling the XM7 turd.

It's great to see Joe's see what a fat pig the XM7 is and how idiotic the entire program is...

Task and Purpose did say, what the army prints out about the XM7 isn't going to be always unbiased and accurate and that the rifle could be complete garbage.
They also mentioned a reddit post from some boomer officer using the rifle and mentioning it being too heavy.

Best NY compliant semi-autos that ARENT an SKS/Mini-14?
People SPERG out over this thing because "muh ugly stock" but honestly its the best ban complaint rifle you can get. Because its literally just an AR with weird grip. You don't even have to buy a pre built one, just build it. (Pro tip, you can put not complaint parts on it when youre """""out of NY"""""' and then put the ban state parts back on when back in NY.)foto_no_exif (42).jpg
