Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

I would say San Andreas has a better plot, but Tommy was a better Protagonist.

CJ should have called Mike and told him to shove Sweet back in jail next to Horse Cock Harry when Sweet gave CJ shit for not doing anything for "DA HOOD" at the end of the game.
Rockstar has this weird "remember your roots, nigga" theme going. Take Franklin in GTA 5, wants out of the hood life, works his way up and eventually leaves the shithole he grew in... And somehow the story treats this as a character flaw.

Cant be the only one that wanted to shoot Lamar after you rescue him from the Ballas in the mountains

Based Rockstar. It's their moral imperative to stay in the crab bucket so the rest of us can avoid well-defined nigger containment zones.

I never understood why more right leaning gamers don't ditch consoles en masse for PC, if only for the fact you can de-censor/de-woke-ify your games via mods - Starfield was a little bit better (but not by much) when I modded out all of the pronoun bullshit in the character creation.

If people still want that console experience without having to build a gaming rig just get a Steam deck.
It has games on it.
Fixed it for you.

We're through the looking glass: Linux is the option for people who want to mash Enter straight through the install process so they can check their emails and facebooks, whereas Windows is best for people who want to follow an 80-step install tutorial and then get really defensive about the OS they're using as if anybody cares.
They hated him because he spoke the truth.

I heard a few times about "the year of the Linux desktop" but it never happens. For as much as computer nerds shit on Linus Tech Tips (and for good reason) he is right about Linux. Most people want a OS that allows them to use their computer with the minimum of fuss. Linux will never replace Windows or even Apple for the simple fact it doesn't work. Opening the command console should be seen as a failure state for anyone that is a casual user, but Linux fans won't accept that.

Thread Tax: Remasters don't fill me with excitement that a nostalgic franchise is making a come back. It makes me roll my eyes and wonder how they've fucked it up. Censor content? Break the physics? Base it off a sub-par port?

What good games does PC have?
I cannot answer that for you friend, I have no idea what you like. I love racing sims and strat games, so I would suggest them if you are into it. I don't care for shooting pvp games, so I couldn't suggest anything other than insurgancy or counter strike, because they are the only ones that come to mind.

But you can pretty much play anything on PC, even old console games. Shit, you can play most of the slop that comes out on console if your hellbent on those types of games as a guilty pleasure, but they will run better for the most part.

The better question is what games are not on the PC, which I can only think of Bloodbourne, and the Demon Souls remake. But what games are not on consoles but are on pc, well thats a massive list.

This is especially true on PC where virtually every game with any following is in a continuous state of "remaster" and it's usually being done by people who care about the end product rather than merely attempting to squeeze a few more dollars from an existing property.

It's hard to get excited about "gosh, I wonder if it'll be as good as what we've already had for a decade".

An example of why PCs suck.

I have the following output devices on my computer:
Arctis 7 Game Chat
Arctis 7 Game Headphones
Logitech Wireless Headphones
Steam Streaming Speakers
Steam Streaming Microphone (?????)
Steelseries GG Media
Steelseries GG Game
Steelseries GG Chat
Steelseries GG Aux
C-Media Speakers
AI Noise-canceling output (ASUS Utility)

The only physical devices I have:
Logitech headphones
Laptop speakers
Arctis Headphones + Chat

Yet for some reason, Steam and the stupid Steelseries software feel free to shit up my computer with a pile of new virtual audio devices. What this results in is an absolute clusterfuck where my computer randomly decides which thing the sound is actually coming out of, which is sometimes wrong, and sometimes happens in the middle of a meeting, and good luck figuring out what the fuck it did. Never had this shit happen on a Playstation.

Which, by the way, fuck Steam. Steam fucking sucks. Steam is like your computer ate an especially shitty game console designed in 2006 that became a parasite. Where the hell does Steam get off thinking it can add new audio devices? Not only that, but it set Microsoft Teams to defeault to Steam Streaming Speakers. Kill yourself, Steam, use Windows audio directly like a normal person.

I think what @Calandrino is trying to say is that PC gaming has a high barrier of entry because many components and factors can go wrong, and it'd be up to you to try to resolve those issues.

Often all that entails is searching for the problem online and finding a solution. More often than not someone has had a similar or the exact same issue, with a fix.

And sometimes the answer is, "well, that thing just goes wrong a lot, and you'll have to fix it a lot," like my computer randomly switching audio devices in the middle of a call." Some people would rather just not mess with it.

Well the new Class of '09 game came out and quite literally everyone hates it. Reddit, Twitter, 4chan, I haven't checked Tumblr but I'm sure they have some strong opinions on it. No one is happy and that's probably not a good sign. I liked Co9, I thought it was funny but now it's turned into postmodern bullshit.

Right Wingers are boomers
So boomers are based then.

- Resident Evil 3 is better than Resident Evil 2
- Sonic Adventure 2 is mid outside of the Sonic/Shadow stages
- Super Mario Galaxy is on par with Super Mario 64
1. Agreed, RE3 was better in every way, aside from only having one playable character.
2. Unsure.
3. No way.

Just the Ratchet & Clank Trilogy alone was one of the best game series I'd ever played.
I guess since you came from PC at the time that's not crazy, but it's a really mediocre series in general.

What good games does PC have?
Everything except Nintendo games and a few good PS4 games, and it has those through emulation (or will soon for PS4).

R&C was more of a 3rd-person shooter than just a platformer, and Conker wasn't a very good game.
It blended both fairly evenly, though I hear later iterations focused more on the combat (one being so focused on it that it was basically a series of closed in arenas, supposedly).

Conker is great, the graphics were top notch for the console and it was actually funny. Gameplay wasn't Mario tier but it was good, and multiplayer was a blast. It's definitely a good game.

The series ran out of ideas after 3 and should have ended there.

Conker was a sludgy mess that is mainly notable for its now-dated satirical humor. At least it was memorable, but I remember most of the game being a chore.
