There is gonna be a second hurricane most likely but it looks like it won't quite affect Appalachia anywhere near the same way (and it'll likely landfall further west than Helene). Any wind or rain is gonna make things worse, though so I pray that it's not much.
Journoscum can't sell Helene as well as Katrina because it's hard to do melanolatry when there's not a diverse urban area completely fucked by storm.

This is absolutely the kind of levity this thread could use. Got an irl guffaw out of me, and Ive been personally effected by this. Not nearly as much as others, but some priceless family heirlooms I had in storage are most certainly destroyed, and lots of my close friends are either in dire straights or nonresponsive. I just moved away from the area recently.
Why Georgia? The worst is in NC and Tennessee.
The dudes get paid to be there whether they can work or not, so sometimes they literally have to sit there. If a large tree falls on the lines, they have to wait for a crane to remove it before they can start work. It's really fucking annoying but part of the process.
Not to get too deep into the politisperging here, but while, yes, he said he's visiting Georgia tomorrow, I don't recall him mentioning it was for the sake of assessing damages.
Presumably because he can't get to the parts of NC or Tennessee that are the hardest hit, all the interstates are down. He could possibly fly in, but right now it's best to let emergency services have access and not distract things with having a presidential candidate come in.
According to the news he's specifically going to Valdosta to tour the damage.
